The District & Sessions Judge, Angul is hiring for 18 posts across three roles — Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist (13), Stenographer Grade-III (4) and Salaried Amin (1). The Office of the District & Sessions Judge, Angul (Odisha) has released Advertisement No-03 dated 18 May 2026 to fill 18 vacancies in the Judgeship of Angul. The recruitment covers clerical, stenography and revenue (Amin) staff under the Odisha District & Subordinate Courts Judicial Staff Services Rules. All posts require you to know Odia and have a Diploma in Computer Application (except Salaried Amin). The recruitment is subject to the result of WP (C) No. 1273/2014 pending before the High Court of Orissa.

Who Can Apply?
Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist & Stenographer Grade-III
- You must have passed +3 (graduation) or an equivalent exam from a recognised University.
- You must have at least a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognised institute.
- For Stenographer Grade-III: you need a minimum speed of 80 words per minute in shorthand and 40 words per minute in typing.
Salaried Amin
- You must have passed Matriculation (10th) or an equivalent exam from a recognised Board.
- You must have passed Revenue Inspector Training.
- You should have basic knowledge of Computer Operation.
Common Requirements
- You must be a citizen of India.
- You must be able to speak, read and write Odia and pass a test in Odia at the M.E. (Middle English) standard.
- You must be of good character, sound health and free from bodily defects.
- You must not have more than one living spouse if married.
Age Limit
- You must be over 18 years and below 42 years of age as on 18 June 2026.
- Age Relaxation: 5 years for SC / ST / SEBC / Women candidates. PwD and Ex-Servicemen get relaxation as per government rules.
- Only the date of birth in your 10th (High School) certificate will be accepted.
Salary
- Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist: Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month (Level 4)
- Stenographer Grade-III: Rs. 25,500 to Rs. 81,100 per month (Level 7)
- Salaried Amin: Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month (Level 5)
- You will also get usual DA and other allowances as per ORSP Rule, 2017 and Odisha Government rules.
Selection Process
Selection is through a written competitive exam, followed by a computer/practical test and a viva-voce. The steps are:
- Career Merit Shortlist: A merit list is made from your H.S.C, +2 and +3 marks. Up to 20 times the vacancies per category are called for the written exam.
- Written Test: For Junior Clerk it covers English (100), Arithmetic (100) and General Knowledge (100). For Stenographer, English (100, qualifying). For Salaried Amin, English (100), Arithmetic (100) and Survey & Settlement theory (50).
- Practical/Computer Test: Computer Science Practical (100) for Clerk and Stenographer; Shorthand & Typewriting test (50) for Stenographer; Survey & Settlement practical (50) for Amin. Up to 10 times the vacancies are called.
- Viva-Voce Test: 45 marks for Clerk, 35 for Stenographer, 25 for Amin.
The typing test for Stenographer Grade-III is done on a computer in English only.

- Attach self-attested copies of all required certificates and two character certificates (in original).
- Write the name of the post in underlined capital letters on top of the envelope. Apply on a separate form for each post.

Responsibilities
- Handle file processing, copying and maintain court office records
- Prepare letters, copies of judgements and official documents
- Take dictation in shorthand and type out court orders (Stenographer)
- Enter case data into court software systems
- Conduct survey and settlement field measurement work (Salaried Amin)
- Assist judicial officers and senior staff with daily administrative work
- Manage incoming and outgoing correspondence of the court

+3 (Graduation) with Diploma in Computer Application; 10th pass with Revenue Inspector Training for Salaried Amin
Required Skills
Knowledge of Odia (speak, read, write); computer operation; shorthand 80 wpm and typing 40 wpm for Stenographer
