IOL Consultant Coordination Recruitment 2026: Overview

India Optel Limited (IOL), a public sector company under the Ministry of Defence, is engaging Consultants in Coordination on fixed-term contracts. The company makes optical and opto-electronic sights, systems and cables for military and paramilitary users, and its corporate headquarters is in Raipur, Dehradun. This engagement brings retired Indian Army officers into the company's work through a full-time consulting arrangement.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Initial tenure: Your first contract runs for one year. IOL may extend it by another year after considering your performance and the organisation's needs, so continued engagement depends on a fresh assessment.
• Further extension: An extension beyond two years after superannuation needs a review of the task, your performance and the reason for continuing the engagement. The notice allows consideration of a further period up to three years, with an overall limit of five years after superannuation.
• Contract agreement: If selected, you must sign an agreement with IOL and follow its contract terms and company rules while carrying out your work. Read the agreement carefully before accepting the engagement.
• No automatic continuation: The contract does not give you a right to an extension or absorption into the company. Even where an extension is possible, IOL must decide that your continued engagement is needed.
• Full-time commitment: This is a full-time engagement. Absence that is not covered by approved leave or company holidays will lead to a proportionate reduction in your payment.
• Transfers: The notice allows for personnel to move from one station to another. When such a transfer takes place, transfer travel and daily allowances follow company policy.
• Orientation: IOL may arrange familiarisation training or an orientation programme. This helps place the engagement within the company's working arrangements and rules.
• Communication: Keep your email address and mobile number active throughout recruitment. IOL sends important messages and call letters by email, and publishes the final outcome on its website.
• Application accuracy: Your name, spelling and date of birth must match your supporting records. Incomplete information, unreadable entries or conflicting personal details can lead to rejection, and IOL does not promise individual correspondence about rejected applications.
• Company discretion: IOL retains the right to change its shortlisting standards and the advertised staffing requirement. Its competent authority decides matters relating to acceptance of applications and engagement.
