The Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), Indian Institute of Technology Madras has released advertisement ICSR/PR/Advt.126/2026 for 1 Technician post in the Department of Physics. The role is based in the Central Instrumentation Facility (CIF) Lab and mainly involves running and maintaining the Electron Beam Lithography (EBL) System. This is a contract position, initially for one year and extendable later based on your performance.

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification

• M.Sc in Physics or Chemistry, OR B.Tech / B.E in EE, ECE, or MME.

Experience

• You need 3 years of relevant experience in operating and regularly maintaining equipment like the Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) in a research laboratory or industry R&D setup.
• You must be a citizen of India.
• If you already work on any IIT Madras project, you must apply through proper channel or bring a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) at the time of document verification.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 35,000 per month, fixed based on your experience.
• This is a purely contract engagement and does not lead to any right of permanency or regularization at the Institute.
