The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), through its Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), has released Advertisement No. ICSR/PR/Advt.125/2026 for one Project Officer post in the Department of Management Studies under Co-ordinator Dr. M Thenmozhi. This is a purely contractual role where you will run a case study centre that connects faculty members, alumni, industry partners and startups. The position is initially for one year and can be extended based on your performance. Completing the contract does not give any right to extension, regularisation or a permanent post at the Institute, so this is best suited to candidates looking for a strong project-based assignment.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You need a Master's degree in Business Administration (MBA) or a Post Graduate degree from a reputed institution.
• Experience: You must have 5 to 7 years of industry experience or relevant academic institutional experience, with a good understanding of business concepts, management practices and the Indian business ecosystem.
• Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to work with many different stakeholders, and proficiency in English and digital tools.
• Preferred: Prior exposure to case study-related academic or administrative work is an added advantage.
• Only experience gained after the minimum qualifying degree is counted. The listed qualifications are the minimum needed even if you hold a higher degree.
• If you already work on any IIT Madras project, you must apply through proper channel or carry a No-Objection Certificate (NOC) for the test/interview.

Age Limit

Salary

• You will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 27,500 to Rs. 1,00,000 per month, based on your qualification and experience.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written competitive exam. Selection works in these steps:

2. Skill Test / Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for a test and/or interview to check how suitable they are for the role.

• Coordinate all activities of the case study centre, working closely with IIT Madras faculty, alumni and industry stakeholders
• Build and maintain partnerships with Indian and international businesses, startups, institutions and consultants
• Invite case study proposals, do an initial review, and put them up to the Ad-Hoc committee
• Work with case developers through the full case study development period
• Organise training sessions, workshops and seminars on case-writing for faculty and research scholars
• Plan and run case study competitions from start to finish, including promotion, evaluation and results
• Manage the case study repository and handle access and distribution within IITM and to other institutions
• Coordinate grant payments with the Finance department and keep the centre's website updated
