Indian Institute of Technology Madras (IIT Madras), through its Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR), has advertised 1 vacancy for a Marketing, Communications & Social Media Specialist at the Department of FedEx SMART. This is Advertisement No. ICSR/PR/Advt.58/2026 dated 16 April 2026. The position is initially for one year and may be extended based on performance. Women candidates are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

  • Qualification: Any UG (Bachelor's degree) or PG (Master's degree) from a recognised university.

Salary

  • Selected candidate will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 60,000 per month.
  • The actual salary within this range will depend on qualifications and relevant experience.

Selection Process

The institute will select candidates through the following stages:

  1. Shortlisting: Applications will be screened based on qualifications, experience, and relevance of profile.
  2. Skill Test / Written Test: Shortlisted candidates may be called for a skill-based test at the institute's discretion.
  3. Interview: Candidates who clear the test will be called for a personal interview.
  4. Document Verification: Original documents will be verified before final selection.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and update social media accounts on LinkedIn, Instagram, and Facebook for the department
  • Create, design, and schedule posts covering events, research highlights, achievements, and announcements
  • Develop creatives, posters, and short videos using graphic design tools like Canva or Adobe suite
  • Coordinate with internal teams to collect content, photographs, and updates for timely posting
  • Support outreach activities and promotional campaigns of the FedEx SMART department
  • Assist in planning and promoting events, including pre-event publicity and post-event coverage
  • Maintain a structured social media content calendar to ensure consistent and regular posting
  • Monitor audience engagement and respond to basic queries or messages where appropriate

Minimum Qualification

Any UG / PG degree from a recognised university

Preferred Qualification

Experience in academic environment; prior social media management for an institution or events
