The Office of Industrial Consultancy and Sponsored Research (IC&SR) at IIT Madras has released Advertisement No. ICSR/PR/Advt.137/2026 for 1 Graphic Designer position in the Department of Engineering Design, under the coordination of Prof. Venkatesh Balasubramanian. This is a purely contract position — it does not carry any right to extension, regularization, or permanency at the Institute. Candidates with strong Adobe design software skills and UX/UI experience are especially encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech (or equivalent) in graphic design, art, engineering, communications, or a related discipline
• Experience: At least 4 years of experience in the creative design industry
• Preferred Skills: Experience in UX/UI design, data analytics, and 3D animation
• Software Skills: Proficiency in Adobe design tools such as InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, and Canva
• You should be able to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment, including occasional after-hours work

Salary

• You will get a consolidated monthly pay of Rs. 21,500 to Rs. 40,000, based on your experience and qualifications.
• This is a fixed consolidated pay for the contract period — there is no separate DA/HRA structure.

Selection Process

IIT Madras will shortlist and select candidates through the following stages:

1. Shortlisting: Based on the information you provide in your online application.
2. Skill Test / Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for a written/skill test and interview.
3. Document Verification: You must produce original documents and a No Objection Certificate (if currently employed) at the time of the interview.
