The Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT Hyderabad) has invited applications for 1 Junior Research Fellow post in a time-bound research project in the Department of Civil Engineering. The project, titled "Fate and transport of nanoatrazine in soil and its implication on soil-plant interaction: Laboratory and field investigations", is funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF). The work involves laboratory column and lysimeter experiments, data analysis, and building mathematical models to study how nanoatrazine moves through soil. This is a strong opening for engineering postgraduates who want a research career - the selected candidate also gets an option to enrol for a PhD in the same project.

Who Can Apply?

• Bachelor's Degree: First Class B.Tech / B.E in Civil, Water Resources, Chemical or allied areas from a recognised university.
• Master's Degree: First Class M.Tech / M.E in Hydraulics, Water Resources, Hydrology, Hydrogeology, Chemical, Environmental, Earth Sciences, Agriculture or allied areas.
• Desirable: Strong mathematical, analytical and programming skills, along with experience in studying flow and transport through porous media, modeling and simulation.

Age Limit

• The maximum age limit is 30 years.

Salary

• For Years 1 and 2, you will get Rs. 37,000 per month plus House Rent Allowance (HRA).
• For Year 3, the fellowship goes up to Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA.
• The appointment is initially for 3 months, extendable up to 3 years, with renewal every three months based on your performance and continued project funding.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam for this post. Selection happens in two steps:

1. Shortlisting (Merit Based): Candidates are shortlisted based on merit and the needs of the project.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview and informed by email.
