IIT Hyderabad has released a notification for 1 Junior Research Fellow post in the Department of Civil Engineering. The post is part of a research project funded by the Anusandhan National Research Foundation (ANRF) that works on recovering rare earth elements from coal fly ash using new low-waste column systems. This is a strong opening for a young engineer who wants hands-on research experience in environmental engineering and critical minerals. Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: First-class B.E./B.Tech and M.E./M.Tech/M.S. in Environmental, Chemical, Metallurgical, Materials, Mining or Civil Engineering, or an allied branch.
• Alternative Qualification: M.Sc. in a relevant subject with a valid NET or GATE score.
• Preferred Skills: Knowledge of hydrometallurgy, adsorption, column studies and rare earth elements, plus experience with lab instruments like ICP-OES/MS, XRD, SEM-EDS and FTIR and good scientific writing.

Age Limit

• You should be up to 30 years old to apply for this JRF post.
• Age relaxation may apply as per institute and funding agency norms.

Salary

• You will get Rs. 37,000 per month in Year 1 and Year 2 of the project.
• The pay rises to Rs. 42,000 per month in Year 3.
• The position runs for 6 months at first, extendable up to 3 years, renewed every 6 months based on your work and continued funding.
• You may also get a chance to join the PhD programme at IIT Hyderabad, depending on your performance and institute rules.

2. Online Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an online interview. The selected candidate is expected to join immediately.

• Carry out process optimization, mass balance calculations and data interpretation
• Prepare technical reports, journal papers, conference presentations and project documents
• Assist the project team with day-to-day laboratory and project management work
