IIT Guwahati is hiring 1 Project Officer for the Pandit Hemchandra Mission project at its Center for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS). IIT Guwahati Project Officer Recruitment 2026 — 1 Post

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati (IIT Guwahati) has invited applications for the post of Project Officer in a project titled Pandit Hemchandra Mission for Popularization of Science and Assamese Culture. The position is based at the Center for Indian Knowledge Systems (CIKS) on the IIT Guwahati campus. This is an 11-month contract position under the Research and Development Section. Those with fluency in Assamese, Hindi, and English and experience in STEM education will have an added advantage.

Selection Process

Selection is based entirely on the interview performance:

Responsibilities

  • Assist in executing activities under the Pandit Hemchandra Mission for Popularization of Science and Assamese Culture
  • Coordinate science popularization events, workshops, and outreach programmes at the Center for Indian Knowledge Systems
  • Manage project documentation, progress reports, and administrative tasks related to the R&D project
  • Support STEM education initiatives and public engagement activities as directed by the Principal Investigator
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders involved in the project
  • Prepare project deliverables and ensure timely submission of reports to the funding agency
  • Maintain records of project activities, expenditures, and compliance requirements

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Ph.D in Engineering from a recognised university or institute

Preferred Qualification

Fluency in Assamese, Hindi and English; experience in STEM education

Required Skills

STEM education, science communication, project management, fluency in Assamese/Hindi/English (desirable)

Salary & Compensation

Pay Scale

Rs. 55,000 per month (fixed) + 16% HRA of Basic Pay (Rs. 8,800/month). Total gross approximately Rs. 63,800 per month.

Allowances

House Rent Allowance (HRA) at 16% of Basic Pay. No medical facility provided.

Exam Pattern

Selection for the Project Officer post at IIT Guwahati is based entirely on an offline interview. There is no written exam.
