IIT Bhilai Project Associate Recruitment 2026: Overview

Indian Institute of Technology Bhilai (IIT Bhilai) is hiring project staff for its sponsored project "PMU Activities: Dantewada District Development Design". The project is funded by the District Mineral Foundation (DMF), Dantewada and led by Prof. Souradyuti Paul of the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. These are temporary, project-linked positions for a 12-month term, not regular institute posts.

If you are a civil engineer or an engineering graduate with project-management experience and you want to work on district development planning in Chhattisgarh, this call is worth a look. Experience with government infrastructure work or coordination with district departments will help your application stand out.

Posts and Disciplines

• Project Associate (Civil): the senior civil-engineering role. It suits you if you already have hands-on experience in civil infrastructure planning, DPR preparation, cost estimation, BOQs and construction supervision, ideally on government or district development projects.
• Project Assistant (Civil): the junior civil role, open to fresh BE/BTech civil graduates as well as diploma holders with work experience. The notice values field inspections, measurement of civil works, budgeting and strong Excel skills here.
• Project Associate (Technical Support): a project-management and finance role for engineering graduates or diploma holders. The notice looks for DPR and budgeting experience, accounting knowledge such as cash book, ledger and bank reconciliation, plus MIS and data analysis. You should be willing to make field visits in Dantewada.

Shared openings: the Project Associate (Civil) and Project Assistant (Civil) roles draw from the same pool of openings. IIT Bhilai will decide your designation and pay based on your qualifications and experience, so you do not have to choose between them.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: Each position runs for 12 months under the DMF-funded project, and the institute's and funding agency's terms for this project apply.
• Early termination: The engagement can be ended with 30 days' notice before the term is over if your performance is not found satisfactory.
• Immediate joining: If selected, you must join duty immediately after receiving the offer.
• Shortlisting: If many people apply, the selection committee can call only those with qualifications and experience above the minimum for the interview.
• No travel allowance: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Right not to fill: IIT Bhilai may fill some, all or none of the positions depending on the candidates it receives.
