IISER Tirupati Technical Officer / Senior Project Associate Recruitment 2026

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, an autonomous institution under the Ministry of Education, has released Advertisement No. 32/2026 for one Technical Officer / Senior Project Associate position. The post is under the project "Immune responses associated with severe dengue infection" led by Prof. Guruprasad R. Medigeshi, with international funding (Project Code: 30425204). The position is purely temporary and coterminus with the project, with an initial six-month offer that can be renewed based on performance.

Who Can Apply?

You can apply if you meet any of these three qualification paths:

Option 1: Bachelor's / Master's + 4 years experience

• Four-year Bachelor's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, OR
• Master's Degree in Natural or Agricultural Sciences, OR
• BVSc, B.Pharm, or Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering / Biotechnology or Medicine
• Plus 4 years of R&D experience in industrial / academic institutions or S&T organizations.

Option 2: M.E. / M.Tech + 2 years experience

• Master's Degree in Engineering or Technology (Biological Sciences)
• Plus 2 years of R&D experience in industrial / academic institutions or S&T organizations.

Option 3: Doctoral Degree

• PhD in Life Science / Bio-Engineering / Biotechnology / Pharma
• Plus at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication indexed in PubMed, SCOPUS or similar database.

Desirable

• Experience in mammalian cell culture, virus research, protein expression and purification, and molecular biology techniques.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 50 years on the date of the interview

Salary

• Monthly salary: Rs. 57,000 per month
• House Rent Allowance: 10% HRA additional
• Tenure: Initial offer for 6 months, renewable based on performance and project duration

Selection Process

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Screening of Applications: The Project Leader and Screening Committee will shortlist candidates based on qualifications and experience.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email and called for an interview.
3. Document Verification: Original certificates, experience proofs and a recent passport-size photograph will be checked at the interview stage.

Note: No TA/DA will be given for attending the interview. Only Indian nationals are eligible.

• Carry out laboratory experiments on dengue virus and immune responses as directed by the Principal Investigator
• Handle mammalian cell culture, virus propagation and related virology techniques
• Perform protein expression, purification and molecular biology assays
• Maintain accurate experimental records, lab notebooks and data files
• Analyse experimental data and prepare reports, presentations and manuscripts
• Manage lab inventory, reagents and equipment used in the project
• Follow biosafety guidelines and standard operating procedures of the lab
• Assist the PI with project reporting requirements to the funding agency
