IISER Tirupati is hiring a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow in the Department of Physics under Advertisement No. 34/2026. IISER Tirupati Post-Doctoral Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati, an autonomous institution of national importance under the Ministry of Education, has released notification Advt No. 34/2026 for 1 Post-Doctoral Research Fellow post in Physics. This is a purely contract position for one year, extendable based on your performance. You will teach advanced Physics courses and take part in the institute's research and teaching work. Indian nationals with a strong theoretical physics background are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Ph.D in Theoretical Physics with at least 2 years of post-Ph.D experience in teaching or research.
• Teaching ability: You should be able to teach advanced Physics courses such as Quantum Field Theory, Fluid Dynamics, Computational Methods in Physics, Advanced Electrodynamics, Advanced Classical Mechanics, Gravitation & Cosmology, Theoretical High Energy Physics, and Non-Equilibrium Statistical Mechanics.
• If your Ph.D degree is awaited, you can still apply with a letter from a competent authority stating your thesis is submitted and the final viva/defence is pending.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 45 years as of the closing date of the advertisement.

Salary

• If you have your Ph.D certificate: Rs. 58,000 per month + 9% HRA.
• If your Ph.D degree is awaited: Rs. 42,000 per month + 9% HRA (with a competent authority letter confirming thesis submission and pending viva).
• A nominal research grant is also available under this program.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is based on screening and interview:

1. Application Screening: A Screening Committee shortlists candidates based on qualification and experience. Meeting the minimum qualification alone does not guarantee an interview call.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. No TA/DA is paid for attending.
