IISER Tirupati Field Assistant Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Tirupati has released Advertisement No. 37/2026 for 2 Field Assistant posts under the RNPF-funded research project on Shola Bird Ecology. The project studies genetic divergence between subspecies across multiple bird species complexes under Principal Investigator Dr. Robin V. Vijayan. There is no written exam — selection is through interview only. Graduates interested in biogeography and bird ecology research can apply.

Essential Qualification

• You must have a graduate degree from a recognised university or institution.

Desirable Qualifications

• At least 70% or equivalent grade in B.Sc. degree
• Valid 2-wheeler and 4-wheeler driving license with driving experience
• Interest and motivation in biogeography studies
• Experience with ecological research
• Experience with basic molecular biology work — DNA extraction, PCR, post-PCR troubleshooting, data analysis, project administration and report writing
• Experience in phylogenetic analysis
• Experience with R Programming and Shell Scripting

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 50 years as on the closing date of the advertisement (01 June 2026)
• No minimum age limit mentioned

Salary

• Fellowship: Rs. 20,000 per month
• HRA: 9% of fellowship
• Total monthly emoluments: approximately Rs. 21,800 per month

Selection Process

Selection is purely through interview — there is no written exam:

1. Screening of Applications: The Project Leader will shortlist candidates based on qualifications and relevant experience over and above the minimum criteria.
2. Interview: Tentative interview date is 5 June 2026 at IISER Tirupati in hybrid mode (in person and online).
3. Document Verification: Bring all original certificates and one set of photocopies to the interview for verification.

No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.
