IIIT Surat is hiring 15 Assistant Professor Grade-II posts in the Department of Computer Science and Engineering. IIIT Surat Assistant Professor Grade-II Recruitment 2026 - 15 Posts

Indian Institute of Information Technology Surat (IIIT-Surat) is an Institute of National Importance set up under an Act of Parliament. It operates under a public-private-partnership (PPP) model involving the Ministry of Education (Government of India), Government of Gujarat, and industry partners including GNFC, GIL, and Gujarat Gas Ltd. The institute runs UG, PG, and PhD programmes in Engineering and Technology. This is a contract appointment for 3 years, extendable by 2 years, with all service benefits applicable to regular employees. Both freshers (no experience required) and experienced researchers with a PhD can apply.

Essential Qualification

• PhD in a relevant discipline (Computer Science, IT, or allied fields)
• First Class at B.Tech / B.E. level
• First Class at M.Tech / M.E. level
• No prior teaching or research experience required (freshers with PhD can apply)

• Two research papers published or accepted in SCI/SSCI (Web of Science) or Scopus (Journals Only) indexed journals
• GATE qualified score
• Ongoing research projects or patents granted
• Industry consultancy or revenue generation experience
• Prestigious awards or fellowships
• NPTEL/SWAYAM activities or industry collaboration experience
• At least one degree from an Institute of National Importance or a foreign university

Salary

• Pay as per Level-10 of the 7th CPC pay matrix — entry pay of approximately Rs. 57,700 per month
• Plus HRA (House Rent Allowance) as per government rules
• Plus Dearness Allowance (DA), Transport Allowance (TA), and DA on TA
• Plus Child Education Allowance and NPS Employer's Contribution as per GoI/Institute rules

• The UTR number and transaction date must be entered in the application form

Selection Process

1. Application Scrutiny and Shortlisting: Applications are reviewed against eligibility criteria and desirable qualifications. Only shortlisted candidates are called for further stages.
2. Screening Test / Presentation / Interview: Shortlisted candidates appear for a demo/presentation and an interview at IIIT Surat, Surat. (Candidates based abroad may request online participation for the demo/interview, but the written test — if held — must be attended in person.)
3. Medical Fitness Check: The final appointment is subject to the selected candidate being found medically fit.

The detailed examination pattern, syllabus, and schedule will be notified on the IIIT Surat website. The list of shortlisted candidates will also be published there.

How to Apply

2. Fill in the Google Form at forms.gle/BhEsr7cuyacyaxQeA with all required details.
3. Pay the application fee via UPI or NEFT to the IIIT Surat SBI account and note the UTR number and transaction date.
4. Take a printout of the filled application form and sign it on all pages.
5. Attach self-attested copies of all required documents and the bank payment receipt.
6. Superscribe the envelope as "Application for the post of Assistant Professor Grade-II (CSE)".
7. Send the hard copy by Speed Post, Courier, or Registered AD to: The Director, IIIT Surat, Kholvad Campus, Kamrej, Surat - 394190, Gujarat — to reach by 15 May 2026 by 5:00 PM.

Both the Google Form submission AND the hard copy are mandatory. Your application will not be considered if either is missing.

• Guide PhD scholars and postgraduate students in their research projects and dissertations
• Establish and develop research laboratories for academic, research, and consultancy activities
• Develop intellectual property (patents, copyrights) under the IIIT Surat banner
• Build and maintain industry collaborations for funded research and consultancy projects
• Contribute to institute-level committees, accreditation activities, and Outcome Based Education (OBE) initiatives
