ICMR-National Institute of Translational Virology and AIDS Research (ICMR-NITVAR), Pune — formerly known as NARI — is hiring 2 Project Research Scientist-I (Medical) posts (Advt. No. 43/NITVAR/Project Cell/2026-27). The post is for the TB Extended Follow-up Study, which studies the long-term effectiveness of the VPM1002 vaccine in preventing TB. This is a purely temporary, full-time, on-site contract position. MBBS doctors interested in clinical and public health research should attend.

Who Can Apply?

• Essential Qualification: You must have an MBBS degree.
• Desirable: Prior experience in operational or clinical research and public health is preferred. An MD in Community Medicine / TB & Chest Disease / other subjects is an added advantage.
• Persons already in regular government service are not eligible to apply.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years (as on the date of the walk-in interview, 4 June 2026).
• Age Relaxation: As per ICMR guidelines.

Salary

• You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA.
• The pay is fully consolidated — benefits like PF, pension, gratuity, LTC, and medical claim are not payable.

Selection Process

Selection is done through these stages:

1. Document Verification: Your educational qualifications and experience are checked at the venue. Only candidates whose original documents are verified can take part.
2. Written Test (if needed): If more than 30 eligible candidates turn up for a position, a written test and assignment may be held before the interview.
3. Walk-in Interview: Final selection is based on your performance in the interview.
