ICFRE is hiring for 5 contract posts at its Centre of Excellence on Sustainable Land Management (CoE-SLM) in Dehradun, Uttarakhand. Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE) RA-III, Database Manager & JRF Recruitment 2026 - 5 Posts

The Indian Council of Forestry Research and Education (ICFRE), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, has released advertisement number VIII/8/2024/CoE/ICFRE dated 14 May 2026. These are purely temporary, contract posts for the period June 2026 to April 2027 (one year), and the term can be extended by another year if the competent authority approves. If you have a background in forestry, ecology, environmental science, or computer science/IT, this is a chance to work on a real land-management project at a central research body.

Who Can Apply?

Only Indian nationals can apply. The qualification depends on the post you want.

RA-III (Ecology & Sustainable Land Management)

• Ph.D in Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Restoration Ecology or a related subject, OR
• M.Sc in Forestry, Ecology, Environmental Science or Natural Resource Management with NET (CSIR/UGC/ASRB) and at least 5 years of research/project experience.
• Preferred: experience in land degradation assessment, SLM/restoration, biodiversity assessment, GIS and remote sensing.

RA-III (Web / Knowledge Platform Support)

• B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / M.Sc in Computer Science, IT, Web Technologies or related, with 3-5 years of experience building web platforms, portals, LMS, dashboards or UI/UX systems.
• Preferred: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, CMS, responsive design and data visualization skills.

Database Manager (Digital Systems & Dashboard Support)

• B.Tech / M.Tech / MCA / Diploma in IT / M.Sc in Computer Science, Computer Applications, IT, Data Science or Geoinformatics, with 2-3 years of experience in database development and dashboard/digital platform support.
• Preferred: SQL/MySQL/PostgreSQL, API integration, data architecture and GIS-linked data systems.

Junior Research Fellow (JRF)

• A postgraduate degree in Forestry, Environmental Science, Ecology, Botany, GIS, Information Technology or related, with NET (UGC/CSIR/ASRB) or GATE.
• Preferred: experience in field data collection, GIS and remote sensing, statistical analysis and report writing.

Age Limit

• RA-III and Database Manager: up to 35 years as on 30 April 2026.
• JRF: up to 28 years as on 30 April 2026.
• Age Relaxation: up to 5 years for SC/ST, Women, PH (Persons with Disabilities) and OBC candidates as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• RA-III (both posts): Rs. 67,000 per month plus HRA at 20%.
• Database Manager: Rs. 50,000 per month plus HRA as per rules.
• JRF: Rs. 37,000 per month plus HRA at 20%.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

There is no written exam. Selection is done through a walk-in interview:

1. Document Verification: Report at 09:00 AM on 3 June 2026 with your filled application form (prescribed format), self-attested copies of certificates and 3 passport-size photos.
2. Walk-in Interview: The interview starts from 11:00 AM onwards at CoE-SLM, ICFRE, Dehradun.

No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.

5. Stay for the interview, which begins at 11:00 AM.
