IBITF Project Manager and Senior Software Engineer Recruitment 2026: Overview

IIT Bhilai Innovation and Technology Foundation (IBITF), the technology hub run out of IIT Bhilai, is hiring a Project Manager and a Senior Software Engineer for the Vidya Samiksha Kendra (VSK) project in Chhattisgarh. VSK is the state's education command centre, where school, teacher and student data is pulled together into dashboards so officials can track how schools are doing. These are short project engagements on a purely temporary basis, tied to the life of the VSK implementation project. Posts and Disciplines

• Project Manager: based at the VSK office in Raipur. Open to candidates from science, education, computer applications, IT, engineering or management backgrounds with long experience in school education, MIS, project management, educational technology or the rollout of government programmes. A master's degree needs less experience than a bachelor's degree for this post.
• Senior Software Engineer: based at the IIT Bhilai campus. Meant for computer science and IT professionals (M.Tech/ME/MS, B.Tech/BE, M.Sc or MCA) who have built full-stack applications and can lead a development team.

Post-wise Duties

Project Manager

You will be the main coordinator of the VSK project. That means planning and tracking project activities, working with the state Education Department and district, block and school-level officials, and making sure the technical team delivers the MIS tools, dashboards and portals on time. You will also watch academic and administrative indicators, spot gaps in implementation, and prepare reports and review-meeting material.

Experience with UDISE, school and student data systems, and state-level education projects will give you an edge.

Senior Software Engineer

You will lead software development for the project, from designing the architecture to guiding junior developers. The notice looks for strength in languages such as Java, Python, PHP, C++ and JavaScript (Node.js, Express.js), front-end frameworks like React, Angular or Vue.js, and databases including MySQL and MongoDB. You will work with product managers, designers and QA engineers and help the team make key technical decisions.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Nature of engagement: Both posts are purely temporary and end with the VSK project. This is a project role, not a regular IIT Bhilai appointment.
• Age relaxation: For the Project Manager post, IBITF says relaxation of the upper age limit will be considered based on prior experience.
• Pay: The notice quotes an annual package ceiling for each post rather than a fixed pay level, so the final offer can be lower than the ceiling.
• Travel costs: No TA/DA is paid for attending the interview.
• Communication: Call letters go to selected candidates by email only, so keep an eye on your inbox and spam folder.
• Canvassing: Any form of canvassing leads to disqualification, and IBITF can cancel the advertisement for any reason.
