SMKV Bastar Laboratory Attendant Recruitment 2026: Overview

Shaheed Mahendra Karma Vishwavidyalaya (SMKV), Bastar — the state university at Jagdalpur, Chhattisgarh — is filling Laboratory Attendant (Prayogshala Paricharak) posts through direct recruitment. These are regular Class IV non-teaching posts on the university's establishment, filled under its non-teaching service recruitment rules (amended Regulation 91).

The written paper leans heavily on science: 80 of its 120 marks come from general science and computer knowledge, so your Class 10-12 chemistry, physics and biology matter more than general knowledge here. Final merit is out of 100, and up to 10 marks go to people already working at SMKV on daily wages.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Domicile: Only permanent residents (mool niwasi) of Chhattisgarh can apply. You must show a Chhattisgarh domicile certificate from an authorised officer at document verification.
• Subject condition: Chemistry must have been a compulsory subject in your Class 12. A Class 12 pass without Chemistry does not qualify.
• Women and ex-servicemen: Some Unreserved and OBC posts are set aside for women, and one Unreserved post for ex-servicemen, within the category counts.
• Persons with disabilities: One post is reserved for a person with a benchmark disability; the identified types include acid attack victims, dwarfism, leprosy-cured, hard of hearing, one or both legs, one arm, spinal deformity, spinal injury and multiple disabilities. The State Medical Board verifies your certificate at appointment, as per Chhattisgarh Gazette No. 104 of 25 February 2026.
• Daily-wage experience: If you work at SMKV on daily wages and want the experience marks, bring your experience certificate to document verification.
• Government employees: Apply directly, but also request a No Objection Certificate from your appointing authority and produce it at document verification.
• Dismissed employees: Anyone dismissed from State or Central Government service cannot be appointed.
• Joining checks: You join only after a health fitness certificate from the District Hospital medical board and a clean police character verification.
• Vacancy changes: The university may raise or cut the number of posts, and no claim is accepted on that basis.
• Cut-off for qualifications: Every qualification and certificate must be complete by the closing date; later-dated certificates are not accepted.

Upload your caste, domicile, education and experience certificates, plus a recent colour passport-size photo and signature of 30 KB to 100 KB. Choose two districts as written-test centres from Bastar (Jagdalpur), Dantewada, Bijapur, Sukma, Kondagaon, Narayanpur, Kanker, Raipur, Bilaspur and Surguja (Ambikapur). The skill or practical test takes place only on the university campus.
