Indian Air Force (IAF) has released the notification for Agniveervayu (Sports) Intake 02/2026 under the Agnipath Scheme. Outstanding unmarried male sportsmen who have passed 10+2 with 50% marks can apply online. Last date to apply is 29 March 2026. The monthly package starts at Rs. 30,000 and goes up to Rs. 40,000 in the fourth year, plus you receive a Seva Nidhi of approximately Rs. 10.04 Lakh on completion.

IAF Agniveervayu Sports Recruitment 2026 - Intake 02/2026

The Indian Air Force (IAF) is looking for talented sportsmen across 24 sports disciplines to join as Agniveervayu (Sports) for a four-year engagement period. Recruitment trials will take place from 08 to 10 April 2026 at Air Force Station, Tejas Camp, New Delhi. There is no written exam -- selection is entirely through physical fitness tests, sports skill trials, document verification, and medical examination. If you are a sportsman representing your state or country, this is your chance to serve in the Indian Air Force.

IAF is inviting outstanding sportsmen in the following 24 sports disciplines:

• Athletics: 400M, 4x400M Relay, 1500M, 5000M, 10000M, 3000M Steeplechase, 110 MH, Long Jump, Discus Throw, Javelin Throw, Hammer Throw, 20 Km Race Walk, Decathlon
• Basketball: Centre and Point Guard
• Boxing: Wt Category 50 Kg, 80 Kg, 85 Kg, 90 Kg, +90 Kg
• Chess: Player (FIDE Standard Classic Rating 2150+)
• Cricket: Wicket Keeper/Batsman, Medium Pacer, All Rounder, Spin Bowler
• Cycle Polo: All-rounder, Defender
• Cycling: 4Km Individual Pursuit, 10 Km Scratch Race
• Football: Striker, Right Winger, Defender (RFB)
• Golf: Player
• Gymnastics: All Rounder for Six Apparatus
• Handball: Goal Keeper, All Rounder
• Hockey: Goal Keeper, Attacker and Defender

Who Can Apply?

Educational Qualification (Science Subjects):

• Passed Intermediate/10+2 with Mathematics, Physics and English from a recognized Board with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
• OR Passed Three-year Diploma in Engineering (Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics/Automobile/Computer Science/Instrumentation/IT) with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
• OR Passed Two-year Vocational Course with non-vocational subjects Physics and Mathematics, with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Educational Qualification (Other than Science Subjects):

• Passed Intermediate/10+2 in any stream with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.
• OR Passed Two-year Vocational Course with 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Sports Achievement Requirements:

• You must have represented the country in Junior/Senior International competitions recognized by IOA.
• OR Attained a minimum 5th place in Junior National competitions, or represented State/UT in Senior National competitions by respective Sports Federations, All India Inter University or SAI (Khelo India National).
• OR Represented State/UT in Junior/Senior National competitions or All India Inter University Championship or SAI (Khelo India National).
• For Cricket only: Played All India Inter-University or BCCI Trophies -- U-19, U-23, Ranji Trophy, Duleep Trophy, Deodhar Trophy or higher.
• For Chess only: Must hold live International FIDE Standard Classic Rating of 2150 and above.
• For Shooting only: International Medal/Participation representing India OR national ranking (NSCC) in Junior/Senior Men up to 50th rank.

Only unmarried Indian male candidates are eligible. Sports certificates must be issued by federations/associations approved by IOA, SAI, or Association of Indian Universities.

Age Limit

• You must be born between 02 July 2005 and 02 January 2009 (both dates inclusive).
• Upper age limit at the time of enrolment should not exceed 21 years.

Salary and Benefits

• 1st Year: Rs. 30,000/month (In-hand: Rs. 21,000)
• 2nd Year: Rs. 33,000/month (In-hand: Rs. 23,100)
• 3rd Year: Rs. 36,500/month (In-hand: Rs. 25,550)
• 4th Year: Rs. 40,000/month (In-hand: Rs. 28,000)
• Seva Nidhi Package: Approximately Rs. 10.04 Lakh on exit after 4 years (excluding interest)
• Life Insurance: Non-contributory cover of Rs. 48 Lakh during engagement
• Allowances: Risk and Hardship allowances, Dress and Travel allowances, ration, clothing, accommodation and Leave Travel Concession (LTC) as per IAF rules
• 30% of the monthly package goes to the Agniveers Corpus Fund, matched equally by the Government
• Up to 25% of each batch may be enrolled in the regular cadre of IAF as Airmen after 4 years

Physical and Medical Standards

Physical Standards (Male Candidates Only):

• Height: Minimum 152 cm
• Chest: Minimum 77 cm with at least 5 cm expansion
• Weight: Proportionate to height and age as per IAF standards

Visual Standards:

• Visual Acuity: 6/12 each eye, correctable to 6/6
• Colour Vision: CP-II
• Refractive Error: Hypermetropia +2.0 D, Myopia -1 D (including +0.50 D Astigmatism)
• Candidates with history of LASIK/PRK will not be accepted

Other Medical Requirements:

• Hearing: Normal hearing -- must hear forced whisper from 6 metres by each ear
• Dental: Healthy gums, minimum 14 dental points. No dental implants or implant-supported prosthesis
• Body Tattoos: Permanent body tattoos are not permitted except on inner forearms, back of hand/palm (tribal customs considered)

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection is entirely through trials and tests -- there is no written exam. The process runs over 5 days:

1. Day 1 (08 April 2026) -- Physical Fitness Test: 1.6 Km run in 7 minutes, 10 push-ups (1 min), 10 sit-ups (1 min), and 20 squats (1 min). Assembly at outside Exit Gate, Air Force Station New Delhi.
2. Day 2 (09 April 2026) -- Sports Skill Trials (Round 1): Discipline-specific trials for candidates who clear PFT and document verification.
3. Day 3 (10 April 2026) -- Sports Skill Trials (Round 2): Further trials for shortlisted candidates from Day 2.
4. Day 4 (13 April 2026) -- Document Verification and Medical Examination: Detailed documentation check at 2 ASC.
5. Day 5 (14 April 2026 onwards) -- Medical Examination: Full medical exam for recommended candidates including blood tests, X-ray, ECG and other investigations.

Note: Candidates must arrange their own stay in Delhi for the entire duration of trials and medical examination. No TA/DA is provided.

How to Apply

2. Register with your valid email ID and mobile number.
3. Fill in the online application form with personal, educational, and sports details.
4. Upload scanned copies (JPG/JPEG only) of your 10th and 12th certificates/marksheets.
5. Upload a passport-size colour photograph (10-100 KB, light background, with name and date on black slate).
6. Upload your signature and left-hand thumb impression images (10-100 KB each).
7. Upload up to 5 sports achievement certificates.
8. Pay the registration fee of Rs. 100 (plus taxes) online.
9. Submit the application and take a printout for your records.

Registration window: 1000 Hrs on 23 March 2026 to 1700 Hrs on 29 March 2026. No extension will be given.

• Support sports promotion and coaching activities within the Air Force
• Perform assigned duties as directed by the Air Force Sports Control Board (AFSCB)
