HPRCA is recruiting 808 teacher posts under Advertisement No. 08/2026 in Himachal Pradesh. The official public notice dated 08 May 2026 extends the ORA last date for the named Music, Sanskrit, History, Hindi and Geography teacher post codes to 15 May 2026, 11:59 PM. Vacancies, age limit, fees and other advertisement conditions are unchanged.
Corrigendum Changes
- Deadline: Online Recruitment Application (ORA) for Music Teacher (Post Code 26021), Teacher Sanskrit (Post Code 26023), Teacher History (Post Code 26025), Teacher Hindi (Post Code 26026) and Teacher Geography (Post Code 26027) is extended up to 15 May 2026, 11:59 PM.
- Qualification clarification: Candidates with B.Ed. in any stream (Non-Medical, Medical or Arts) with minimum 50% marks, TET in any stream conducted by HP Board of School Education or another authorized agency, and Master's Degree in the concerned subject with minimum 50% aggregate marks are eligible for the applicable posts.
- Geography clarification: Candidates with a Master's Degree in Geography are eligible even if their B.Ed. and TET stream is Non-Medical, Medical or Arts, provided the other notified conditions are met.
- Other humanities clarification: The same stream flexibility applies to candidates with postgraduation in the concerned humanities subject who have B.Ed./TET in Science streams.
- No other changes notified: The public notice states that all other terms and conditions of Advertisement No. 08/2026 remain unchanged.

For most subjects (Hindi, History, Geography, Sanskrit, Music), you need a Master's Degree in the relevant subject with 50% marks + B.Ed with 50% marks + HP TET qualification. For Drawing Teacher, you need 10+2 + 2-year Diploma in Art & Craft or B.A. Fine Arts or M.A. Fine Arts. For Physical Education, you need 10+2 + D.P.Ed. or B.P.Ed. Age limit is 18 to 45 years as on 1 January 2026. You must also have passed Matriculation and 10+2 from a school within Himachal Pradesh (except Bonafide Himachalis).
Go to hprca.hp.gov.in, register on the OTR portal, log in, and fill in the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) form for your subject. Upload your photo and signature, pay the fee of Rs. 800 online, and submit before 8 May 2026. No offline forms are accepted. Apply separately for each subject post code you want to apply for.
Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT) of 120 MCQ questions for 120 marks in 90 minutes, followed by Document Verification and Medical Examination. Minimum qualifying marks are 45% for General and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/WFF candidates. Scores are normalised using the Z-Score method if the exam is held in multiple shifts.
