Himachal Pradesh Rajya Chayan Aayog (HPRCA), Hamirpur has released Advertisement No. 07/2026 dated 07 April 2026 for the engagement of 390 Post Graduate Teachers in CBSE-affiliated Government Schools under the Department of School Education, Government of Himachal Pradesh. These posts are under the Scheme for Engagements of Teachers in Government Schools Affiliated to CBSE on Fixed Honorarium/Consolidated Amount (Annexure-I), notified vide order No. EDN-B-A(1)-3/2025 dated 01.04.2026. This is a scheme-based fixed-term engagement for 5 years — there is no right to regularization and no claim to government employee status. Commerce has the highest vacancies at 156 posts, while Biology, Chemistry, and Physics each have 78 posts.

Who Can Apply?

Teacher (Biology) — Post Code 26017

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Botany, Zoology, Life Sciences, Microbiology, Bio-Technology, Molecular Biology, or Plant Physiology with minimum 50% marks — you must have studied Botany and Zoology at Graduation level
• Professional Qualification: Bachelor of Education (B.Ed.) with minimum 50% marks from a recognised University/Institution
• TET: Must have passed Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) conducted by H.P. Board of School Education, Dharamshala or any authorised agency
• Teaching Language: Proficiency in Hindi and English required

Teacher (Chemistry) — Post Code 26018

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Chemistry or Biochemistry with minimum 50% marks
• Professional Qualification: B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks + TET (same as above)
• Teaching Language: Proficiency in Hindi and English required

Teacher (Physics) — Post Code 26019

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Physics, Electronics, or Nuclear Physics with minimum 50% marks
• Professional Qualification: B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks + TET (same as above)
• Teaching Language: Proficiency in Hindi and English required

Teacher (Commerce) — Post Code 26020

• Qualification: Master's Degree in Accountancy, Financial Accountancy, Income Tax, or MFC (Master of Finance Control) with minimum 50% marks
• Professional Qualification: B.Ed. with minimum 50% marks + TET (same as above)
• Teaching Language: Proficiency in Hindi and English required

Marks Relaxation: Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OBC/PWD categories of Himachal Pradesh get a 5% relaxation in minimum educational qualifications.

Domicile: You must have passed Matriculation (10th) and 10+2 from any school/institution situated within Himachal Pradesh. This condition does not apply to Bonafide Himachalis.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 45 years of age as on 01 January 2026.
• Age relaxation is available for reserved category candidates as per HP Government rules.
• Candidates of reserved categories from states other than Himachal Pradesh will be treated as General (UR) category.

Honorarium / Salary

• Selected candidates will receive a fixed honorarium of Rs. 30,000 per month.
• The honorarium is payable for 10 months per academic year (not 12 months).
• This is a scheme-based engagement — no DA, HRA, or other government allowances are payable under this scheme.
• The engagement is for a period of 5 years on a purely temporary and scheme-based basis with no right of regularization.

Application Fee

• All categories: Rs. 800 (Rs. 100 examination fee + Rs. 700 processing fee)
• Correction window fee: Rs. 100 (if you need to make changes after submission)
• Payment mode: Online only via Credit Card / Debit Card / Net Banking
• Fee once paid will not be refunded under any circumstances.

Selection Process

Selection is done through a Computer Based Test (CBT) or Written Screening Test in a single stage:

1. Computer Based Test (CBT) / Written Screening Test: 120 questions for 120 marks in 1.5 hours (90 minutes). All questions are objective type (MCQ) carrying 1 mark each.
2. Document Verification: Shortlisted candidates will be called for verification of original certificates and documents.

Exam Syllabus:

• Section I: Subject-specific content up to the level of the prescribed essential qualification (PG level)
• Section II(a): General Knowledge including HP GK, Current Affairs
• Section II(b): Everyday Science, Logical Reasoning, Social Science, General English, General Hindi (Matric standard)

The minimum qualifying marks in the screening test are 45% for General category and 40% for SC/ST/OBC/Wards of Freedom Fighters. If multiple shifts are held, scores will be normalised using the Z-Score Method (Mean and Standard Deviation method).

How to Apply

1. Go to the official HPRCA portal at hprca.hp.gov.in.
2. Complete the One Time Registration (OTR) if you have not already done so.
3. Log in and select the post code for your subject (Biology: 26017 / Chemistry: 26018 / Physics: 26019 / Commerce: 26020).
4. Fill in the Online Recruitment Application (ORA) form carefully with all required details.
5. Upload your scanned passport-size photograph (not older than 1 month) and signature in JPG/JPEG/PNG format (max 1 MB each).
6. Pay the application fee of Rs. 800 online through the payment gateway.
7. Submit the form and take a printout of the completed application for future reference.
