GPSSB Junior Pharmacist Recruitment 2026 - 164 Posts (ADVT No. 07/2026-27)
Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB), Gandhinagar, has released notification for 164 Junior Pharmacist (Class-III) posts under the Panchayat Service across various district panchayats. Direct recruitment will be done through a Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) or OMR-based exam. Candidates with B.Pharm, Pharm.D, or Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised university can apply.

Who Can Apply?
- Educational Qualification: You must have a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy, Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D), or Diploma in Pharmacy from any recognised university or institution.
- Computer Knowledge: You must have basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed in the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967.
- Language: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
- Pharmacy Council Registration: If selected, you must register with the Gujarat Pharmacy Council under the Pharmacy Act 1948 at the time of application for direct selection (if not already registered).
Age Limit
- Maximum age: 35 years (as on 20-05-2026, the last date of application).

- General Category Women: 5 years
- Reserved Category Men (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS): 5 years

Salary
- Fixed salary of Rs. 40,000 per month for the first 5 years on contract basis.
- After successful completion of 5 years and satisfactory service, you will be eligible for regular pay scale appointment.
- Other benefits as per Gujarat Government rules.

- General candidates who fail to pay online by 20 May 2026 can pay Rs. 500 process fee in cash at the GPSSB office between 21-25 May 2026 to download the call letter.
Selection Process
Selection will be made through a single competitive exam:
- Competitive Examination (CBRT/OMR): One paper of 200 marks for 3 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
- Document Verification: Candidates included in the provisional merit list will be called for original certificate verification.
- Final Selection: Based on merit in the competitive exam.
Minimum qualifying standard: 40% of total marks. Sports certificate holders get 5% bonus marks. Widow candidates get 5% bonus marks.

- Click on Advertisement No. 07/2026-27 (Junior Pharmacist) and click "Apply".
- You can either Apply With OTR (One Time Registration) or skip and fill all personal, communication, language, disability, and educational details.
- Upload your photograph (up to 15 KB) and signature (up to 15 KB) in JPG format.
- Read the declaration, click "Yes", and save the application to generate an Application Number.
- Click "Confirm Application", enter your application number and date of birth, preview, and confirm.
- Pay the application fee online via SBI E-Pay (General category only).
- Take a printout of the confirmed application for future reference.

Responsibilities
- Dispense medicines as per prescriptions issued by medical officers
- Maintain stock register, expiry records, and pharmacy inventory at the Primary Health Centre or sub-centre
- Counsel patients on dosage, side effects, and proper medicine usage
- Ensure proper storage of medicines, vaccines, and pharmaceutical supplies
- Assist in indenting and procurement of drugs as per departmental guidelines
- Keep accurate records of drug receipts, issues, and consumption
- Follow Gujarat Pharmacy Council and government health protocols at all times
- Support medical officers during health camps and immunisation drives
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy OR Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D) OR Diploma in Pharmacy from a recognised university or institution
Preferred Qualification
Registration with Gujarat Pharmacy Council under Pharmacy Act 1948
