Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB), Gandhinagar, has released a bumper notification for 1948 Female Health Worker (Class-III) posts under the Panchayat Service across all district panchayats of Gujarat. This recruitment is exclusively for women candidates. Selection will be done through a Computer Based Recruitment Test (CBRT) or OMR-based exam.

Who Can Apply?

  • Women candidates only: This recruitment is exclusively for female candidates.
  • Educational Qualification: You must have passed the Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12th class) from a recognised Board.
  • Plus one of the following:
  • Female Health Worker's basic Training Course recognised by the Government, OR
  • Auxiliary Nurse Midwife (ANM) Course recognised by the Government and registered with the Nursing Council.
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic computer knowledge as prescribed in Gujarat Civil Services Rules.
  • Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.

Age Limit

  • You should be between 18 and 40 years (as on 20-05-2026, the last date of application).
  • Age Relaxation:
  • General Women (already eligible up to 40): 5 years additional
  • Reserved Category Women (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS): 10 years additional
  • General PwD Women: 15 years additional
  • Reserved PwD Women: 20 years additional
  • Ex-Servicewomen: Service rendered + 3 years
  • Maximum age after relaxation cannot exceed 45 years in any case.

Salary

  • Fixed salary of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first 5 years on contract basis.
  • After successful completion of 5 years and satisfactory service, you will be eligible for regular pay scale appointment.
  • Other benefits as per Gujarat Government rules.

Selection Process

Selection will be made through a single competitive exam:

  1. Competitive Examination (CBRT/OMR): One paper of 200 marks for 3 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks per wrong answer.
  2. Document Verification: Candidates included in the provisional merit list will be called for original certificate verification.
  3. Final Selection: Based on merit in the competitive exam.

Minimum qualifying standard: 40% of total marks. Sports certificate holders get 5% bonus marks. Widow candidates get 5% bonus marks.

  4. You can either Apply With OTR (One Time Registration) or skip and fill all personal, communication, language, disability, and educational details.
  5. Upload your photograph (up to 15 KB) and signature (up to 15 KB) in JPG format.
  6. Read the declaration, click "Yes", and save the application to generate an Application Number.
  7. Click "Confirm Application", enter your application number and date of birth, preview, and confirm.
  8. Pay the application fee online via SBI E-Pay (General category only).

Responsibilities

  • Provide primary healthcare services to women, children, and infants in rural and village areas
  • Conduct antenatal, postnatal, and family welfare visits in the assigned sub-centre area
  • Assist in normal deliveries and refer complicated cases to higher health facilities
  • Carry out routine immunisation drives for children and pregnant women
  • Educate communities about hygiene, nutrition, family planning, and disease prevention
  • Maintain registers, case records, and monthly reports as per government health programmes
  • Support National Health Programmes such as RCH, RNTCP, NVBDCP, and ICDS at the village level
  • Identify and report communicable disease outbreaks to the Primary Health Centre
