Andaman & Nicobar Pollution Control Committee (ANPCC), under the Department of Science & Technology, has released vacancy notice A-12/2/2023-Dir(S&T)-SnT_AN/101 for 5 contract posts. Selected candidates will work on sample collection, pollution monitoring and report preparation for NGT, MoEF & CC and CPCB. The contract is for 1 year and can be extended based on department needs. Freshers with the right qualification can apply.

Who Can Apply?

For Computer Assistant (Rs. 44,000/month):

• You must have a Diploma in Computer Engineering of 3 years duration from a recognised University or Institution.

For Junior Laboratory Assistant (Rs. 29,000/month):

• You must have passed 12th standard with Science stream from a recognised board.

For Field Assistant (Rs. 27,000/month):

• You must have passed 10th standard from a recognised Board.

You should also be willing to serve at any place in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.

Age Limit (as on 18.05.2026)

• Computer Assistant: Below 33 years
• Junior Laboratory Assistant: Below 32 years
• Field Assistant: Below 32 years

Salary

• Computer Assistant: Rs. 44,000 per month (consolidated)
• Junior Laboratory Assistant: Rs. 29,000 per month (consolidated)
• Field Assistant: Rs. 27,000 per month (consolidated)
• Posts are on contract basis for 1 year, extendable based on need.

Selection Process

Selection happens in 2 stages:

1. Shortlisting on Academic Marks (80 marks): Based on a self-marking scheme. Computer Assistant: 10th (20) + 12th (20) + Diploma (40). Junior Lab Assistant: 10th (40) + 12th (40). Field Assistant: 10th (80).
2. Trade Test (20 marks): Date, time and venue will be informed to shortlisted candidates by phone or email. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the trade test.

Final selection is based on combined academic and trade test marks (total 100).

2. Fill the form in BLOCK LETTERS with all your details.
3. Complete the self-marking column (point 9 of the form) using the marking scheme.
4. Attach a recent passport size photograph and self-attested copies of all certificates.

• Collect water, air and soil samples from various locations across the islands
• Analyse samples in the laboratory and maintain testing equipment
• Monitor pollution levels and prepare data reports for submission to NGT, MoEF & CC and CPCB
• Handle IT infrastructure, database management and Microsoft applications (Computer Assistant)
• Install software updates, take backups and fix network issues (Computer Assistant)
• Keep the laboratory neat, clean and well-maintained at all times
• Support senior officers during field visits and inspections in any part of the islands
