GPSSB is hiring 612 posts500 Gram Sevak (Class-3) and 112 Pashudhan Nirikshak / Livestock Inspector (Class-3) — in panchayats across Gujarat. If you have an agriculture degree or diploma, you can apply online before 7 May 2026. Salary is Rs. 26,000 per month (fixed) for the first five years. The Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB), Gandhinagar has released two recruitment notifications (Advertisement No. 02/2026-27 and 03/2026-27) under the Panchayat, Rural Housing and Rural Development Department of the Government of Gujarat. A total of 612 Class-3 posts are open for direct recruitment — 500 Gram Sevak posts and 112 Pashudhan Nirikshak (Livestock Inspector) posts across all 34 districts of Gujarat. These are permanent state government posts and selection is through a competitive written exam.

Who Can Apply?

For Gram Sevak (Class-3)

  • Qualification (Option A): Bachelor of Rural Studies (except Bachelor of Rural Studies in Home Science) / B.Sc. (Agriculture) / B.E. (Agriculture) / B.Tech. (Agricultural Engineering) / B.Sc. (Horticulture) from any university established or incorporated under the Central or State Act or declared to be a deemed university under Section 3 of the UGC Act, 1956
  • Qualification (Option B): Diploma in Agriculture, Horticulture, Agriculture Engineering, Agro-processing, or Polytechnic Diploma in Agriculture Co-operation Banking and Marketing from any Agriculture University incorporated under the Central Agriculture Universities Act or a State Agriculture Universities Act in India
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 is required
  • Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is required

For Pashudhan Nirikshak / Livestock Inspector (Class-3)

  • Qualification: Three-year Diploma in Animal Husbandry from any university established or incorporated under the Central or State Agricultural or Veterinary University Acts
  • Important: Candidates who obtained the diploma through Distance Learning Mode are NOT eligible
  • Computer Knowledge: Basic knowledge of computer applications as prescribed under Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules, 1967 is required
  • Language: Adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both is required

Age Limit

  • Gram Sevak: Minimum 18 years — Maximum 35 years as on 07 May 2026
  • Pashudhan Nirikshak: Minimum 18 years — Maximum 33 years as on 07 May 2026

Age Relaxation:

  • General category women: 5 years relaxation (maximum 40 years)
  • Reserved category (SC/ST/SEBC/EWS) men: 5 years relaxation (maximum 40 years)
  • Reserved category women: 10 years relaxation (5+5 = maximum 40 years)
  • General category PwD (40%+) men: 10 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
  • General category PwD (40%+) women: 15 years relaxation (10+5 = maximum 45 years)
  • Reserved category PwD men: 15 years relaxation (maximum 45 years)
  • Reserved category PwD women: 20 years relaxation (5+10+5 = maximum 45 years)
  • Ex-Servicemen: 3 additional years above the years of defence service rendered (maximum 45 years in all cases)
  • No age relaxation beyond 45 years in any category

Salary

  • Selected candidates will get a fixed salary of Rs. 26,000 per month for the first 5 years of service (as per Gujarat Finance Department resolution dated 18-10-2023)
  • After successful completion of 5 years, candidates will be placed on the regular pay scale as per the prevailing Gujarat government pay matrix
  • Other benefits and allowances as notified under the relevant Gujarat government resolutions will also apply

  • SC / ST / SEBC / EWS: No fee
  • Ex-Servicemen (all categories): No fee
  • PwD (all categories): No fee
  • Payment mode: Online only via SBI e-pay (Debit Card, UPI, Internet Banking, NEFT, Credit Card)
  • Fee is non-refundable once paid. If you cannot pay online within the deadline, you may pay a Process Fee of Rs. 500 in cash at the GPSSB office between 08/05/2026 and 12/05/2026 (working days).

Selection Process

Selection is through a competitive written exam in 2 stages:

  1. Competitive Written Exam (200 marks, 3 hours): MCQ-based (OMR / Computer Based Recruitment Test). Negative marking of -0.25 marks per wrong answer. After the exam, a Provisional Answer Key (PAK) is published; a Final Answer Key (FAK) is prepared after objections are resolved.
  2. Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted based on category-wise merit list are called for document verification. Final Selection List and Recommendation List are published after document verification.

Note: Admit card (Hall Ticket) will be available for download online. No candidate is allowed to enter the exam hall without an admit card.

  2. Under "Current Advertisement", click "View All" and select Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB).
  3. Click on the advertisement for Gram Sevak (Advt. 03/2026-27) or Pashudhan Nirikshak (Advt. 02/2026-27) and select "Apply".
  4. Apply using your OTR (One Time Registration) number, or fill in all details fresh if you don't have OTR.
  5. Fill in the application form with your personal, educational, and other details carefully.
  6. Upload your latest photograph (max 15 KB) and signature (max 15 KB) in JPG format.
  7. Pay the application fee online via SBI e-pay (General category only).
  8. Click "Confirm Application" to submit your form and save the confirmation number.
  9. Take a printout of the confirmed application for your records.

Responsibilities

  • Assist gram panchayats with development work, record-keeping, and rural welfare schemes
  • Maintain village-level records including land, population, and government scheme registers
  • Coordinate with block-level officers on implementation of central and state government schemes
  • Assist in livestock health monitoring, vaccination drives, and animal welfare activities (Pashudhan Nirikshak)
  • Inspect and report on livestock disease outbreaks and coordinate with veterinary officers
  • Prepare reports and maintain records related to animal husbandry in the assigned panchayat area
  • Support community awareness programmes on agriculture, rural development, and livestock care
