Samagra Shiksha, Ganjam (Chatrapur) has released an advertisement for filling up vacant posts in Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) Type-III hostels for girls spread across 17 blocks of Ganjam District for the year 2026-27. This is a contractual and temporary engagement — selected candidates will need to sign an agreement and continue based on satisfactory performance. Posts are spread across 17 KGBV blocks: Beguniapada, Chatrapur, Chikiti, Dharakote, Digapahandi, Ganjam, Hinjilicut, Kabisuryanagar, Khallikote, Kukudakhandi, Patrapur, Polasara, Purusottampur, Rangeilunda, Sanakhemundi, Sheragada and Surada. Candidates from the same block where the KGBV is located will be preferred. Preference shall be given to Widow/Destitute candidates for Warden posts.

Who Can Apply?

Important: Only female candidates are eligible for all posts. All candidates must have passed Odia as MIL (Mother-tongue Instructional Language) up to Class X or passed an equivalent Odia language test declared by B.S.E. Odisha.

Warden (7 Posts)

  • Qualification: B.A. / B.Sc. + B.Ed. with at least 2 years of experience in education or hostel management. If trained candidates are not available, untrained B.A./B.Sc. graduates will be considered.

Part Time Teacher — Mathematics & Science (12 Posts)

  • Qualification: B.Sc. + B.Ed. If trained Science Graduates are not available, untrained Science Graduates will be considered. Must have passed Odia in HSC/10th Class.

Part Time Teacher — English (12 Posts)

  • Qualification: B.A. + B.Ed. If trained Arts Graduates are not available, untrained Arts Graduates having English Honours (B.A. Hons.) or B.A. with minimum 50% marks in English as a subject will be considered.

Part Time Teacher — Sanskrit (15 Posts)

  • Qualification: B.A. with Sanskrit or Sahityacharya.

Accountant (11 Posts)

  • Qualification: B.Com with Computer Knowledge.

Age Limit

  • Warden: 30 to 50 years as on 01 April 2026.
  • Part Time Teachers (all subjects) & Accountant: 18 to 35 years as on 01 April 2026.
  • Age Relaxation: OBC — 3 years; SC/ST/PwBD — 5 years; Ex-Serviceman — 5 years; PwBD + SC/ST — 15 years.

Salary

  • Warden: Rs. 25,621.75 per month (includes employee & employer EPF share).
  • Part Time Teacher (Maths & Science, English, Sanskrit): Rs. 9,075 per month (includes EPF share).
  • Accountant: Rs. 16,637.50 per month (includes EPF share).

Selection Process

Selection for most posts is based on academic career marks. Here is how it works for each post:

  1. Career Marking Percentage: Candidates are shortlisted based on their academic marks (HSC, graduation, B.Ed. etc.). This applies to Warden and all Part Time Teacher posts.
  2. Written Test on Accounting (Accountant only): A written test covering accounting principles will be conducted for the Accountant post.
  3. Interview (Accountant only): Shortlisted Accountant candidates will appear for an interview.
  4. Document Verification: All shortlisted candidates must verify their original documents.

The selection committee is headed by the Collector-cum-Chairman, Samagra Shiksha, Ganjam. Preference for Widow/Destitute candidates will be given for Warden posts.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day operations of the KGBV hostel and ensure the safety and well-being of resident girls
  • Teach assigned subjects (Mathematics & Science, English, or Sanskrit) as per the school timetable
  • Maintain attendance registers, student records, and hostel documentation accurately
  • Monitor student progress, conduct periodic assessments, and report outcomes to the school head
  • Coordinate with parents, Gram Panchayat officials, and block-level education officers as needed
  • Handle accounts, financial records, and vouchers related to hostel and school operations (Accountant post)
  • Follow all guidelines and instructions issued by Samagra Shiksha and OSEPA from time to time

Minimum Qualification

B.A./B.Sc. with B.Ed. for Warden and Part-Time Teacher posts; B.Com with Computer Knowledge for Accountant; B.A. with Sanskrit or Sahityacharya for Sanskrit Teacher

Preferred Qualification

Trained candidates (with B.Ed.) preferred over untrained graduates for Warden and Part Time Teacher posts. Preference to Widow/Destitute candidates for Warden posts.

Required Skills
