GPSSB is hiring 112 Livestock Inspectors (Pashudhan Nirikshak, Class-III) across Gujarat's district panchayats. Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB), Gandhinagar has released the detailed notification for 112 Pashudhan Nirikshak (Livestock Inspector) Class-III posts under Advertisement No. 02/2026-27. These posts are spread across 34 districts of Gujarat under the Panchayat Department. Selection will be done through a computer-based or OMR-based written exam of 200 marks. Who Can Apply?
- Educational Qualification: You need a 3-year Diploma in Animal Husbandry from any University established under the Central or State Agricultural or Veterinary University Acts. If you got this qualification through Distance Learning Mode, you are not eligible.
- Computer Knowledge: You need basic knowledge of computer applications as per the Gujarat Civil Services Classification and Recruitment (General) Rules 1967.
- Language: You must have adequate knowledge of Gujarati or Hindi or both.
- Domicile: Both male and female candidates from Gujarat can apply. Reservation benefits for SC/ST/SEBC/EWS are available only to original domicile holders of Gujarat.

Salary
- You will get a fixed salary of Rs. 25,000 per month for the first 5 years of service.
- After 5 years of satisfactory service, you will be placed in the regular pay scale as per Gujarat government rules.
- You will also get DA, HRA, and other allowances as per Gujarat state government rules after regularisation.

- Note: If you are a General category candidate and cannot pay online, you can visit the GPSSB office between 8 May 2026 and 12 May 2026 (working days) to pay a Process Fee of Rs. 500 to get your hall ticket.
Selection Process
Selection will be done in the following stages:
- Written Exam (CBRT or OMR-based): Objective type MCQ paper of 200 marks in 3 hours. The exam will be held at centres fixed by GPSSB. Your hall ticket (admit card) is mandatory to enter the exam hall.
- Provisional Merit List: Published after the exam based on marks and category-wise vacancies.
- Document Verification: If you are on the provisional merit list, you will be called for certificate verification.
- Final Select List: Prepared after document verification. A Waiting List will also be published as per rules.
Negative Marking: 0.25 marks deducted for each wrong answer.
Tiebreaker: If two candidates score equal marks, the older candidate gets priority. If age is also the same, the candidate with higher academic merit gets priority.
How to Apply
- Go to the OJAS portal at ojas.gujarat.gov.in.
- Click on "Current Advertisement" then "View All" and select Gujarat Panchayat Service Selection Board (GPSSB).
- Click on Advertisement No. 02/2026-27 (Pashudhan Nirikshak) and choose "Apply".
- You can apply with OTR (One Time Registration) — enter your OTR number and date of birth to auto-fill the form — or fill in all details manually.
- Upload your recent Photograph (max 15 kb) and Signature (max 15 kb) in JPG format.
- Fill in all details: personal, educational, caste, disability, sports, ex-serviceman (if applicable).
- Read the Declaration and click Yes to confirm. Click Save to get your Application Number.
- Click "Confirm Application" to finalise. Once confirmed, no changes can be made.
- General category candidates: pay the fee of Rs. 100 via SBI E-Pay after confirming the application.
- Take a print of the confirmed application for your records.

Responsibilities
- Inspect livestock and poultry in the assigned panchayat area for health and disease control
- Assist veterinary officers in administering vaccines and treatments to animals
- Maintain registers of livestock population, births, deaths, and disease outbreaks in the area
- Collect samples and report suspected disease outbreaks to the district veterinary department
- Educate farmers and animal owners about animal husbandry best practices and government schemes
- Monitor implementation of animal welfare and livestock development schemes at the panchayat level
- Prepare monthly reports on livestock health activities and submit to supervisory officers

Exam Pattern
