Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited Systems Recruitment 2026 - 4 Posts

Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and Government of Gujarat, is responsible for building and running the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project (Phase-I and Phase-II) and Surat Metro Phase-I, along with their day-to-day Operations & Maintenance. GMRC has released Advertisement No. GMRCL/HR/RECT/Systems/Jul-2026/20, dated 8 July 2026, to fill 4 Systems posts - 1 Manager (Rolling Stock) in Surat, 2 Engineer - Sr. Grade (Telecom) posts in Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, and 1 Engineer - Jr. Grade (Signalling) post. These are contract/deputation/post-superannuation positions for a minimum of 3 years, extendable up to 5 years based on performance, and each role is tied to the running or expanding metro network. Experienced engineers currently working in railways, other metro systems, or reputed private industry are all encouraged to apply, as long as they meet the years-of-experience criteria for the grade.

Who Can Apply?

Manager (Rolling Stock), Surat:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Mechanical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Communication, Power Electronics or Instrumentation from a government-recognized university.
• Experience: You need 9 years of relevant post-qualification experience in a private organization, or 7 years in Government/PSU, in planning, technical specification, contract administration, installation, testing, commissioning or maintenance of Rolling Stock systems in railways or metros. Experience in modern urban metro rail systems is preferred.

Engineer - Sr. Grade (Telecom), Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunications, Applied Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics or Instrumentation.
• Experience: You need a minimum of 3 years of post-qualification experience in Telecom/AFC system works in Railway Systems, Metro, LRT, sub-urban rail or with a telecom service provider.

Engineer - Jr. Grade (Signalling):

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Electrical, Electrical & Electronics, Electronics & Telecommunications, Applied Electronics, Industrial Electronics, Power Electronics or Instrumentation.
• Experience: You need a minimum of 2 years of post-qualification experience in Signalling (CBTC/AFTC/PSD) in Metro Rail or Railways.

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in Gujarat State for at least 3 years and are conversant with the Gujarati language. Government/PSU employees applying on deputation must route their application through their parent department and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) along with their last 5 years' APAR before the interview date.

Age Limit

• For the Manager (Rolling Stock) post, the maximum age is 40 years as on 8 July 2026.
• For Engineer - Sr. Grade and Engineer - Jr. Grade posts, the maximum age is 32 years as on 8 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: The age limit does not apply to existing GMRCL employees, though relaxation does not apply to officials re-employed after superannuation.

Salary

• Manager (Rolling Stock): Revised IDA scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month. Deputation candidates get pay as per their parent organization's terms.
• Engineer - Sr. Grade (Telecom): Revised IDA scale of Rs. 35,000 to Rs. 1,10,000 per month.
• Engineer - Jr. Grade (Signalling): Revised IDA scale of Rs. 30,000 to Rs. 1,20,000 per month.
• Private-sector candidates need a current CTC of at least Rs. 90,000 per month to apply for the Manager post.
• You will also get Group medical coverage and Group personal accident insurance as per GMRC policy, along with HRA that varies according to your place of posting (Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar or Surat) as per government guidelines and company policy.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Personal Interview: Judges your knowledge, skills, experience, expertise and aptitude for the post.
2. Document Verification: Done before the interview - carry your original certificates.
3. Medical Examination: Conducted as per the category prescribed for the post.

Preference is given to candidates with experience in the same grade or the immediate lower grade with 2 years' experience in that grade. If enough suitable candidates are not available for a post, GMRC may also consider candidates from a lower pay scale who meet the qualification, experience and age criteria.
