Gujarat Metro Rail Corporation (GMRC) Limited, a 50:50 joint venture of the Government of India and Government of Gujarat, implements the Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project (Phase-I and Phase-II) and Surat Metro Phase-I, along with their Operations & Maintenance. GMRC has released Advertisement No. GMRCL/HR/RECT/Civil/Jul-2026/21, dated 8 July 2026, to fill 3 Civil posts in Surat - 1 Deputy General Manager (Track), 1 Manager (Track) and 1 Assistant Manager (Civil). The Deputy General Manager post is open on contract, deputation, and even post-superannuation basis, for a minimum period of 3 years extendable up to 5 years. These roles focus on the civil and track infrastructure that keeps Gujarat's growing metro network running, so engineers with track and metro construction experience from railways, other metro systems, or reputed private industry are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

Deputy General Manager (Track), Surat:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering from a government-recognized university.
• Experience: Experience of construction/maintenance of Track in Railways/Metro; experience with Ballastless track is desirable. You need 8 years of relevant post-qualification executive experience in Government/PSU, or 10 years in a reputed private organization.

Manager (Track), Surat:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Same track construction/maintenance background as above; 7 years post-qualification executive experience in Government/PSU, or 9 years in a private organization.

Assistant Manager (Civil), Surat:

• Qualification: B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering.
• Experience: Experience in construction of Viaducts, Bridges, Multi-Storeyed Buildings and Workshop Sheds. Metro Rail viaduct construction experience (segment casting yard work, launching girder erection, pile foundation) is preferred. You need 5 years executive-level post-qualification experience in Government/PSU, or 7 years in a private organization.

Preference will be given to candidates who have worked in Gujarat State for at least 3 years and are conversant with the Gujarati language. Government/PSU or Railway employees applying on deputation must route their application through their parent department and submit a No Objection Certificate (NOC) along with their last 5 years' APAR before the interview date.

Age Limit

• For Deputy General Manager (Track): maximum 45 years on contract basis, 58 years on deputation, and 62 years on post-superannuation basis, all reckoned as on 8 July 2026.
• For Manager (Track): maximum 40 years as on 8 July 2026.
• For Assistant Manager (Civil): maximum 35 years as on 8 July 2026.
• Age Relaxation: The age limit does not apply to existing GMRCL employees, though relaxation does not apply to officials re-employed after superannuation.

Salary

• Deputy General Manager (Track): Revised IDA scale of Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 2,00,000 per month on contract/deputation, or a consolidated pay of Rs. 1,00,000 per month on post-superannuation basis.
• Manager (Track): Revised IDA scale of Rs. 60,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 per month.
• Assistant Manager (Civil): Revised IDA scale of Rs. 50,000 to Rs. 1,60,000 per month.
• Private-sector candidates need a minimum current CTC of Rs. 1,00,000 per month (Deputy General Manager), Rs. 90,000 per month (Manager) or Rs. 70,000 per month (Assistant Manager) to apply.
• You will also get Group medical coverage and Group personal accident insurance as per GMRC policy, along with HRA that varies according to your place of posting as per government guidelines and company policy.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

The selection will be done in the following stages:

1. Personal Interview: Judges your knowledge, skills, experience, expertise and aptitude for the post.
2. Document Verification: Done before the interview - carry your original certificates.
3. Medical Examination: Conducted as per the category prescribed for the post.

Preference is given to candidates with experience in the same grade or the immediate lower grade with 2 years' experience in that grade. If enough suitable candidates are not available for a post, GMRC may also consider candidates from a lower pay scale who meet the qualification, experience and age criteria.
