Who Can Apply?

For Professor:

• Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC 2025
• Experience: 8 years post-PG experience, including at least 3 years as Associate Professor in a recognized medical college
• Research: At least 4 research publications in indexed journals (Medline, PubMed, Scopus, etc.)
• Additional: Must have completed basic courses in Medical Education Technology and Biomedical Research from NMC-designated institutions
• Registration: MBBS plus additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council

For Associate Professor:

• Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC 2025
• Experience: 5 years post-PG experience, including 4 years as Assistant Professor in a recognized medical college
• Research: At least 2 research publications in indexed journals
• Additional: Must have completed basic courses in Medical Education Technology and Biomedical Research from NMC-designated institutions
• Registration: MBBS plus additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council

For Assistant Professor:

• Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC 2025
• Experience: 1 year as Senior Resident in a recognized medical college after acquiring MD/MS degree
• Note: For Anatomy, Physiology, and Biochemistry departments, candidates with M.Sc. (relevant medical) and Ph.D (relevant medical) from recognized institutions are also eligible
• Registration: MBBS plus additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council

For Senior Resident:

• Qualification: MD/MS/DNB in the concerned subject as per TEQ Regulation of NMC 2025
• Alternative: Postgraduate degree in Doctor of Medicine or Master of Surgery or DNB; or M.Sc. with Ph.D in Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, or Microbiology
• Registration: MBBS plus additional qualification registered with Telangana State Medical Council

Outside state candidates must get their qualification registered from Telangana State Medical Council within one week of selection for appointment confirmation.

Age Limit

• Professor, Associate Professor, Assistant Professor: Below 69 years as on 30 March 2026
• Senior Resident (Broad Specialties): Below 45 years as on 30 March 2026
• Senior Resident (Anatomy, Biochemistry, Physiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Community Medicine): Below 50 years

Salary

• Professor: Rs. 1,90,000 per month (consolidated)
• Associate Professor: Rs. 1,50,000 per month (consolidated)
• Assistant Professor: Rs. 1,25,000 per month (consolidated)
• Senior Resident: Rs. 1,06,461 per month (consolidated)

The salary is all-inclusive consolidated pay as per G.O. Rt. No. 98, Finance (HRM.VII) Department, Government of Telangana. Tax deductions and statutory deductions apply as per law.

Selection Process

Selection will be through walk-in interview:

1. Walk-in Interview: Candidates attend the interview directly at the venue with all original documents and self-attested photocopies
2. Document Verification: Original certificates will be verified by the committee at the Principal's office on the same day

Selection criteria:

• For Assistant Professor and Senior Resident: Based on marks obtained in MD/MS/DNB/DM/MCh PG degree. If marks are not awarded, 50% will be considered as qualifying marks.
• For Professor and Associate Professor: Based on duration of teaching experience in that cadre
• DNB candidates will be selected as per the latest NMC guidelines
• Local preference: First preference to local candidates from Telangana; candidates from other states considered only if local candidates are unavailable

Note: Candidates already working on contract basis in any other Government Medical College of Telangana in the same cadre are not eligible to apply.
