Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI) has released notification for 28 Trainee Graduate Engineer and ITI/NCVT Trade positions at its campus in Palakkad, Kerala. Candidates with B.E./B.Tech or ITI with NCVT can attend the walk-in interview. Walk-in dates are any working day in March 2026 for ITI trades and 30 March & 06 April 2026 for Graduate Engineers. Fluid Control Research Institute (FCRI), an autonomous body under the Government of India's Ministry of Heavy Industries, is located in Kanjikode West, Palakkad, Kerala. FCRI specializes in calibration, testing, and research on fluid flow measurement devices. The institute has announced two separate walk-in interview notifications dated 12 March 2026 for engineering graduates and ITI/NCVT trade holders. Who Can Apply?
For Graduate Engineers (Level-1 & Level-2)
- Qualification: You need a full-time B.E. / B.Tech degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation from a UGC/AICTE-recognized university.
- Marks: You must have First Class with 60% or more aggregate marks in your qualifying degree.
- Lateral Entry: Engineering degree through lateral entry after full-time Engineering Diploma in the relevant discipline is also accepted.
- Level-2 Experience: At least 1 year of experience in the relevant engineering area (calibration, testing, construction, O&M, instrumentation, etc.).
- Level-1: Less than 1 year experience is fine -- even candidates with just 2 months of internship can apply.
For ITI/NCVT Trades (Level-1 & Level-2)
- Qualification: You need an ITI certificate with NCVT in one of these trades -- Machinist, Fitter, Welder, Plumber, Electrician, or AC & Refrigeration.
- Marks: You must have 55% or more marks in your ITI/NCVT.
- Level-2 Experience: At least 1 year of hands-on experience in your relevant trade area.
- Level-1: Freshers or candidates with less than 1 year experience can apply. You can also opt for 1-year Apprentice Training.
Salary / Stipend
Graduate Engineers
- Level-2 (Experienced): Rs. 25,000 per month (consolidated)
- Level-1 (Trainee): Rs. 21,000 per month (stipend)
- Level-1 (Apprentice option): Rs. 12,900 per month (1-year apprentice training stipend)
ITI/NCVT Trades
- Level-2 (Experienced): Rs. 17,500 per month (consolidated) + dormitory accommodation (subject to availability)
- Level-1 (Trainee with 2+ months exp): Rs. 16,500 per month (stipend)
- Level-1 (Apprentice option): Rs. 9,600 per month (1-year apprentice training stipend)
Tenure is 1 year, likely to be extended. No other allowances are mentioned for these positions.
Selection Process
The selection will be done through walk-in interview:
- Walk-In Interview: For Level-2 candidates (both Graduate Engineers and ITI trades), selection is based directly on the walk-in interview performance.
- Written Test & Interview (for Graduate Engineer Level-1): Level-1 graduate engineer candidates appear for a preliminary round during the walk-in. A written test and formal interview will be held at a later date for final selection.
- Document Verification: You must bring all original certificates and one set of self-attested photocopies for verification at the time of walk-in.
Note: For ITI Level-1 candidates, selection is through the walk-in interview process itself.

Responsibilities
- Assist in calibration, testing, and quality inspection of fluid flow measurement equipment and instruments
- Work on installation, repair, and maintenance tasks related to your engineering discipline or ITI trade
- Follow safety protocols and standard operating procedures during laboratory and field operations
- Prepare daily logs, maintenance records, and test reports as directed by your reporting officer
- Handle on-site assignments, field visits, and travel duties as assigned across FCRI project locations
- Assist senior engineers in data collection, analysis, and documentation of experimental results
- Maintain workshop tools, laboratory equipment, and assigned work areas in proper condition
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
B.E./B.Tech (60% marks) or ITI with NCVT (55% marks) in relevant discipline/trade
Preferred Qualification
Experience in calibration, testing, fluid flow measurement, construction, O&M of substations, or relevant ITI trade areas
