Mahatma Gandhi University, Kottayam has issued a Re-Notification (the second re-notification of its original 5 February 2026 notice) to fill 1 Course Mentor post for its Online MBA programme, run by the Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE). The post is reserved for SIUC Nadar candidates; if no SIUC Nadar candidate is available, the university will consider other reservation categories, and if the post is still unfilled, Open Competition (OC) candidates will be considered. The engagement is purely on contract basis, for one year, and can be extended by up to two more years based on your annual performance appraisal. This is the second time MGU has re-advertised this post — it was first notified on 5 February 2026 and re-notified on 11 March 2026 — so the seat may still be open even if you missed those earlier deadlines.

The Centre for Distance and Online Education (CDOE) at MGU runs several online postgraduate programmes for working professionals and distance learners across India, and the Online MBA is one of its flagship offerings. As a Course Mentor, you will play a hands-on role in making this online learning experience effective for students who cannot attend a regular, on-campus MBA programme.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: Postgraduate degree in the relevant subject area of the Online MBA programme, with at least 55% marks
• Additional requirement: NET qualification or a PhD, as per UGC ODL/OL Regulation 2020
• Reservation: This post is reserved for SIUC Nadar candidates. In the absence of eligible SIUC Nadar candidates, other reservation category candidates will be considered, followed by Open Competition candidates
• Candidates applying under the community reservation quota must submit a community certificate and a Non-Creamy Layer certificate. Candidates from states other than Kerala cannot apply for this reservation-quota post
• If your degree is from a university outside Kerala, you must attach an equivalency/eligibility certificate from MGU
• The university proforma also asks about your teaching aptitude, research publications (with impact factor details), and any prior experience with online programme delivery, e-content production, or platforms like SWAYAM/LMS/CMS — highlight this clearly if you have it

Age Limit

• You should be up to 50 years old as on 1 January 2026.
• Age Relaxation: Permitted for candidates from eligible reserved categories, as per university rules.

Salary

• The selected Course Mentor will get a consolidated pay of Rs. 40,000 per month.
• The contract runs for one year, and can be extended for up to two more years based on your annual performance appraisal report.
• This is a consolidated, fixed monthly pay for the contract role — it is not linked to the regular UGC pay scale used for permanent teaching posts.

Selection Process

MGU will select the Course Mentor in the following stages:

1. Initial Screening: Your application and supporting documents will be screened first. Applications without the required proof documents will be summarily rejected.
2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The exact format and date will be announced later. Admission to the interview is purely provisional, subject to verification of your original academic documents.
3. Document Verification: If you are included in the final rank list, you must submit original and attested copies of your educational records.
4. Agreement: Selected candidates must sign a contract agreement with the university as per existing norms.

Keep in mind that clearing the initial screening does not guarantee a job offer — the final rank list depends on your performance in the interview and how well your documents match the eligibility criteria.
