Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), a listed Miniratna Schedule 'A' company under the Government of India and one of the country's largest public sector shipyards known for building and repairing ships, offshore vessels and defence platforms, has invited online applications for the post of Executive Trainee in the Environment discipline at CSL, Kochi (Vacancy Notification Ref No. CSL/P&A/HRM/HRM GENERAL/MANPOWER/2025/91(C) dated 24 July 2026). Selected candidates undergo one year of training before being confirmed as Assistant Manager in the E-1 Grade, making this a strong entry point into a leading Indian shipbuilding PSU. Fresh engineering and environmental science graduates are encouraged to apply, and CSL reserves the right to increase, decrease, or cancel the number of vacancies as per its requirement.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: B.Tech / M.Tech / M.Sc degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science & Technology, Environmental Engineering & Management, or Climate Science from a recognized university.
• Recognition: Your qualification must be from a University/Institute/Examination Board recognized by AICTE or an equivalent statutory/State/Central Government authority.
• If your qualification is not an exact match to those listed, you must submit an Equivalency Certificate issued by the competent authority — without it, your candidature will not be considered.
• Note: This post is not identified as suitable for Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) because the job involves frequent site visits, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces at the shipyard.

Age Limit

• You should not be older than 27 years as on 10 August 2026 (born on or after 11 August 1999).
• Age Relaxation: As per Government of India reservation directives for SC/ST/OBC and other reserved categories.

Salary

• During the 1-year training period, you get a consolidated monthly stipend of Rs. 50,000 (up to Rs. 53,000 if retained for extra training hours on closed holidays).
• On successful completion of training, you are appointed as Assistant Manager in E-1 Grade with a pay scale of Rs. 40,000-3%-140,000.
• Current monthly pay at the start of the E-1 scale totals around Rs. 83,640 (Basic Pay Rs. 40,000 + DA Rs. 21,640 + HRA Rs. 8,000 + Perks Rs. 14,000). The approximate Annual CTC is Rs. 15 lakhs.
• You also get National Pension System (NPS), Contributory Provident Fund, Accident Insurance, Leave Encashment, and Medical Insurance benefits under the company's Contributory Medical Insurance policy.

Application Fee

• General / OBC / EWS candidates: Rs. 750 (non-refundable, plus bank charges).
• SC / ST candidates: No fee — fully exempted.
• Payment mode: Online only (Debit card / Credit card / Internet Banking). Your candidature is considered only once the fee is received.

Selection Process

CSL selects candidates through 2 phases:

1. Phase-I Objective Type Test (60 marks): 60 MCQs in 60 minutes covering General Awareness (5 marks), English Language (5 marks), Numerical Ability (5 marks), Reasoning Ability (5 marks) and Subject-based questions (40 marks). There is no negative marking. The minimum qualifying mark is 50%.
2. Phase-II Group Discussion, Writing Skills & Personal Interview (40 marks): Candidates who qualify Phase-I go through certificate verification, called in a minimum ratio of 6 candidates per vacancy, followed by Group Discussion (10 marks), Writing Skills (10 marks) and Personal Interview (20 marks).

Your final rank is based on the total of Phase-I and Phase-II marks (100 marks). If two candidates score equally, the discipline-specific part of the Objective Test decides the order, followed by seniority in age.

Note: Selected candidates must sign a Service Agreement to serve CSL for at least 3 years after training, and applications for outside employment will not be forwarded during this period.

3. Complete One Time Registration on the SAP Online portal.
4. Fill in your application and upload certificates, photo and signature.
5. Pay the Rs. 750 application fee online (if applicable to your category).
6. Submit your application before 10 August 2026. Only one application is allowed per candidate, and it cannot be changed after submission.
