Employees' State Insurance Corporation (ESIC) Medical College & Hospital, Bibvewadi, Pune has released Advertisement No. 07 of 2026 to fill 77 teaching and resident doctor posts on a contract basis. The posts cover 26 medical departments — from Anatomy and Physiology to General Medicine, Surgery, Paediatrics, Anaesthesiology and Dental. The engagement is for one year and can be extended up to three years based on your performance. This is a strong chance for MBBS and postgraduate doctors who want to work and teach at a central government medical college in Pune.

Vacancy Breakdown

There are 77 posts across six categories:

• Assistant Professor: 25 posts
• Associate Professor: 15 posts
• Senior Resident (3 Year): 15 posts
• Professor: 12 posts
• Senior Resident (1 Year, Against GDMO): 5 posts
• Tutor / Demonstrator: 5 posts

These posts are spread across departments like Anatomy, Biochemistry, Pathology, Physiology, Community Medicine, Forensic Medicine, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Psychiatry, Dermatology, General Medicine, Paediatrics, Radiology, Respiratory Medicine, Nephrology, Medical Oncology, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopaedics, Surgery, Accident & Emergency, Anaesthesiology, Blood Bank, ICU/Critical Care and Dental. Vacancies are reserved category-wise (UR, SC, ST, OBC, EWS) as per the notification.

Who Can Apply?

Your qualification must match National Medical Commission (NMC, earlier MCI) norms for the post you apply for.

Professor / Associate Professor / Assistant Professor

• A recognised MBBS degree plus a postgraduate degree (MD / MS / DNB) in the concerned specialty.
• The teaching experience needed for each level is as per NMC rules.

Senior Resident (3 Year)

• MD / MS / DNB in the relevant subject with valid registration.

Senior Resident (1 Year, Against GDMO) & Tutor/Demonstrator

• MBBS (with the subject qualification where needed) and a valid NMC / State Medical Council registration.

Note: You must have a valid and updated NMC/State Medical Council registration certificate. If you have already completed 3 years as a Senior Resident under the Central Residency Scheme, you cannot apply for the 3-Year SR posts.

Age Limit

• Faculty posts (Professor, Associate/Assistant Professor, Tutor): maximum 68 years as on 8 June 2026.
• Senior Resident posts: maximum 45 years as on 8 June 2026.
• Age relaxation for Senior Resident posts is given to reserved categories (SC/ST/OBC/PwBD) as per Government of India rules.
• Teaching faculty can continue on contract up to 70 years of age.

Salary

You will get a fixed consolidated pay under the 7th CPC based on the post:

• Professor (Level 13): basic pay Rs. 1,23,100 — about Rs. 2,57,000 per month
• Associate Professor (Level 12): basic pay Rs. 78,800 — about Rs. 1,70,000 per month
• Assistant Professor / Senior Resident (Level 11): basic pay Rs. 67,700 — about Rs. 1,60,000 per month
• Tutor / Demonstrator (Level 10): basic pay Rs. 56,000 — about Rs. 1,10,000 per month

The pay includes NPA, DA, HRA and TA as applicable. No PF, pension, gratuity or other service benefits are given, as this is a contract post.

Application Fee

• All other categories: Rs. 500
• SC / ST / ESIC contractual employees / Women / Defence Ex-servicemen / PwD: No fee
• Pay the fee by Demand Draft in favour of "ESI Fund A/c No. 1", payable at Pune. Fee once paid is not refunded.

Selection Process

Selection is done at the walk-in interview — there is no written exam:

1. Application Scrutiny: Your application and documents are checked on the day of the walk-in. Only candidates who qualify move ahead.
2. Screening Test (if needed): If too many candidates turn up, the hospital may hold a short screening test to shortlist.
3. Walk-in Interview: You appear before the Selection Board, which decides based on your performance.
4. Medical Fitness: Your final selection depends on being medically fit.

The decision of the Selection Board is final. Results are put up on the ESIC websites.

How to Apply

This is a walk-in interview — you do not apply online. Follow these steps:

1. Fill the application form in the prescribed format (Annexure-A) given in the notification.
2. Keep the fee Demand Draft ready (if it applies to you) and a Rs. 20,000 security deposit DD for joining.
3. Carry all original documents plus one set of self-attested copies — Class 10 certificate, MBBS and PG degrees, NMC/State Medical Council registration, category certificate, Aadhaar, and experience/publication proof.
4. Reach the venue between 9:00 AM and 10:30 AM on your department's interview date. Latecomers are not allowed.
5. Venue: Office of the Dean/Medical Superintendent, ESIC Medical College & Hospital, Bibvewadi, Pune.

You can apply for more than one post, but you need a separate application form and fee for each post.

• Mark daily attendance on the Aadhaar biometric system (AEBAS)
• Handle duty rosters including night and emergency shifts when assigned
