The selection is open only to serving Railway Technicians of Electrical (OP) Department/KUR Division. The last date to submit applications is 10 June 2026.

East Coast Railway (ECoR), Khurda Road Division, has released Notification No. DRM(P)/KUR/Elect/JE/25% (IAQ)/2026 dated 21 May 2026 to fill up 1 vacant post of Junior Engineer (OP) under the 25% Intermediate Apprentice Quota. This is an internal recruitment for serving Technicians of Electrical (OP) Department. The post is reserved for PwBD category. Selection is through a Computer Based Test (CBT/TBT) followed by scrutiny of Service Records.

Who Can Apply?

Eligible Staff

• You must be a serving Technician of Electrical (OP) Department/KUR Division, or have your lien in Electrical (OP) Department/KUR Division.
• You should be in Pay Level-2, Level-4, Level-5 or Level-6 in terms of Para 141(1), Ch-I, IREM Vol-I.

Length of Service

• You should have completed 3 years of continuous Railway service in skilled grade as on the date of notification.
• For candidates who joined Electrical (OP) on transfer on request basis, length of service will be counted as per RBE No. 34/2006.

Educational Qualification (any one)

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical/Mechanical Engineering (including sub-stream branches) as per RBE No. 81/2025, OR
• ITI/ACT Apprenticeship Pass certificate, OR
• 10+2 in Science Stream as per RBE No. 145/2003

Age Limit

• You should not be more than 47 years of age.
• Cut-off date: Date of issue of notification (21 May 2026) as per RBE No. 117/2006.
• Volunteering employees must meet the eligibility conditions as on the date of issue of notification.

Salary

• Pay Scale: Level-6 of the 7th Central Pay Commission (Rs. 35,400 to Rs. 1,12,400 per month)
• You will also get DA, HRA, TA and other allowances as per Railway rules.

Medical Standard

• You should be fit in A-3 (Aye-three) medical classification for OP wing.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in these stages:

1. Written Examination (CBT/TBT): 110 objective MCQs (you have to answer maximum 100 questions out of 110; 10 questions will be from Rajbhasha). Duration 2 hours (120 minutes). Negative marking of one-third of the marks per wrong answer. Questions in both Hindi and English.
2. Service Record and APAR Scrutiny: Candidates securing minimum 60% marks in written test will be considered. Last three years' APARs will be scrutinised.
3. Final Empanelment: Candidates securing 60% or more in aggregate and free from SPE/Vigilance/D&AR cases will be empanelled in order of merit.
4. Medical Examination: Candidates must pass A-3 medical standard.

Note: There will be no relaxation in marks for SC/ST candidates as this is a safety category post. No supplementary examination will be conducted. Pre-selection coaching is not applicable since there are no reserved vacancies.

• Engineering: Mechanics, Laws of motion, Particle dynamics, Work and energy, Rotational motion, Equilibrium, Gravitation, Waves & oscillation, Heat and Thermodynamics, Electricity and Magnetism, DC & AC current, Elementary circuit analysis, impedance, Electrical measurement, Electrical earthing, fuses, circuit breakers and protection system relays, Engineering materials, semiconductor devices, transistor, thyristor, IGBT, properties of materials
• Mathematics: Elementary algebra, linear and quadratic equations, logarithms, exponentials, arithmetic & geometric series, binomial expansion, factorisation, real and imaginary numbers, surds, Trigonometric functions and identities, straight lines, Triangles, Circles, Co-ordinate geometry, parabola, hyperbola, time-distance work, Area of geometrical surfaces, Volumes of geometrical objects

General Knowledge & English

• Indian Polity, World Polity, Economy (IMF, ADB, Exchange rate, RBI, Inflation), Indian & World History, Geography, Population data, Sports, Science & Technology
• English: Vocabulary, comprehension, parts of speech, prepositions, verbs, tenses, similar words, syntax, error correction, direct-indirect speech, active/passive voice

Rajbhasha

• Constitutional provisions, Rajbhasha Act 1963 (as amended 1976), 8th Schedule languages, Rajbhasha implementation committee, Hindi promotion award schemes, Hindi training

2. Fill in the application form in the prescribed pro-forma. Do not write in capital letters except where required.
3. Submit the filled application to your respective in-charge (SSE/JE) by 10 June 2026.
4. The application will then be sent to Sr.DEE(OP)/KUR on or before 15 June 2026 after verification.
5. Sr.DEE will forward eligible applications to Sr.DPO/Khurda Road's office latest by 22 June 2026.
6. Applications received after 10 June 2026 will not be entertained.

Note: Applications without signature, with signature in capital letters, blank columns, or incorrect/incomplete information will be rejected. Suppression of facts will lead to cancellation of candidature.
