RailTel Corporation of India Limited (RailTel), a Navratna Central Public Sector Enterprise under the Ministry of Railways, has released Notice No. RCIL/2026/P&A/01/SR dated 20.05.2026 for engagement of experienced technical personnel for the KSWAN Project in the Southern Region on a contract basis. The engagement is for a contract period of 5 years from the date of joining. This is your chance to work on a Pan-India optic fiber network project with one of India's premier telecom PSUs.

Who Can Apply?

For Senior Management Posts (Project Director, Project Manager)

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech/M.E in Electronics and Communication, Computer Science, IT, or Telecom OR BCA/BSc/MSc
• Experience: 13 to 18 years in major IT infrastructure project implementations
• Certification: PMP Certification or equivalent

For Specialist Posts (Network Specialist, Security Specialist)

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Electronics, Computers, IT, or Telecom
• Experience: 15 years total with 5+ years in large WAN networks
• Certification: Cisco CCNA and CCNP or industry equivalent

For Admin and Engineering Posts (Network Admin, Server Admin, Network Engineer)

• Qualification: B.E/B.Tech in Electronics, Computers, IT, or Telecom
• Experience: 8 to 10 years in network operations and maintenance
• Certifications: Network certifications from OEMs (Cisco, Juniper, HP)

For Field and Helpdesk Posts

• Qualification: Diploma or B.E/B.Tech in Electronics, Computers, IT, or Telecom
• Experience: Relevant network/IT operations experience
• Language: Ability to speak fluently in Kannada and English is required for field posts

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 50 years (cut-off date: last date of application)
• Maximum age after all relaxations: 55 years
• Age Relaxation: OBC: 3 years, SC/ST: 5 years, PwBD: 10 years (valid certificate required)

Salary

• The Annual CTC varies by post — ranging from Rs. 3,68,400 (Central Helpdesk L1) to Rs. 17,32,810 (Project Director)
• CTC is inclusive of Gratuity and Medical benefits
• The CTC mentioned is on the higher side and may vary based on experience and certifications
• No TA/DA will be paid for interview or joining

Selection Process

The selection will be done in 2 stages:

1. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview to assess technical and managerial competence
2. Medical Examination: Final empanelment is subject to clearing the medical fitness test conducted by a RailTel-designated medical authority

• Manage end-to-end implementation and operations of the KSWAN network infrastructure project in Karnataka
• Configure, monitor, and maintain core network appliances including routing, switching, and WAN devices
• Coordinate with KSWAN, CeG, and other stakeholders for project deliverables and milestones
• Handle Level 1/Level 2 network support, troubleshooting, and resolving connectivity issues
• Conduct regular network performance reviews, capacity planning, and security audits
• Travel across KSWAN locations in Karnataka for assessment, troubleshooting, and operations
• Maintain inventory of network hardware, software, and configuration backups
• Prepare project reports and present KPI updates to senior management
