DRDO PXE Paid Internship 2026 — 7 Posts

Proof & Experimental Establishment (PXE), Chandipur — a premier DRDO lab under the Ministry of Defence — is engaged in the testing and evaluation of armament systems. PXE is offering a six-month paid internship for undergraduate engineering students in 4 disciplines: Computer Science, Electronics & Communication, Electronics & Instrumentation, and Mechanical Engineering. This is a great opportunity to work on real defence technology projects at a cutting-edge facility in Balasore, Odisha. Note that this internship does not guarantee employment — it is purely a training/learning opportunity with a completion certificate issued on successful finish.

Who Can Apply?

• Qualification: You must be currently pursuing B.Tech in the relevant discipline (full-time) from a recognised Indian university or institute, and be in your 7th or 8th semester.
• Academic Performance: You need a minimum 7.5 CGPA (on a scale of 10) across all previous semesters. If your mark sheet shows CGPA only, calculate percentage as CGPA × 9.5.
• Disciplines accepted: Computer Science & Engineering, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.

Age Limit

• You must be below 28 years of age as on 1 May 2026.

Stipend

• Monthly stipend: Rs. 5,000 per month for the entire 6-month period.
• Payment is made in two installments — the first after completing 3 months. The stipend is credited directly to your bank account.
• Stipend is paid only if you maintain good academic performance and complete a minimum of 15 working days per month with physical attendance at PXE, Chandipur.
• No boarding or lodging expenses are provided — you must arrange your own accommodation, food, and transport.

Selection Process

Selection is based on:

1. Merit: Academic performance (CGPA) will be the primary basis for shortlisting.
2. Interview (Online/Offline): Shortlisted students will be called for an online or offline interaction/interview as required by PXE.
3. Notification by Email: Shortlisted students will be informed about joining procedures through email only. No other communication will be made.

Note: Incomplete applications or those received after the due date will be rejected without any communication.

2. Fill in the form completely and get a request letter from your Principal/Director (Appendix-B).
3. Attach self-attested copies of all semester mark sheets, Aadhaar card, College ID card, a brief bio-data (up to 300 words), and details of awards/professional memberships if any.
4. Mention "Application for Paid Internship" and "Branch Code No." clearly on the envelope.
5. Send your application by Speed Post or Registered Post to:

• Assist scientists and engineers in testing and evaluation of armament systems at PXE, Chandipur
• Work on assigned engineering project under the supervision of a DRDO mentor
• Prepare project reports and submit them as per the internship schedule
• Maintain physical attendance at PXE for a minimum of 15 working days every month
• Follow all IT rules, security regulations, and Official Secrets Act requirements at the establishment
• Complete project evaluation and required formalities to earn the internship completion certificate
