DRDO LRDE Junior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

Electronics and Radar Development Establishment (LRDE), a premier R&D lab under DRDO, Ministry of Defence, has released Advt. No. 01/2026/JRF for the award of Junior Research Fellowships. LRDE develops Radar and related technologies for the Defence Services and is offering these fellowships to young, meritorious Indian citizens who want to pursue radar-related research. This is a walk-in interview, not a written exam. Engineering freshers with GATE or postgraduates in CSE/EE can apply.

• Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): 1 post
• Electrical Engineering (EE): 1 post

Note: The number of fellowships may vary. A panel will be drawn based on merit and will remain valid for one year.

Who Can Apply?

You need to meet one of the following qualification routes for either CSE or EE:

Option 1 - Graduate Route:

• BE / B.Tech in First Division from a recognised university in the respective subject (CSE or EE)
• Must have a valid GATE score in the relevant discipline

Option 2 - Postgraduate Route:

• ME / M.Tech in First Division from a recognised university in the respective subject
• Must have First Division at both Graduate and Postgraduate level

Other Requirements:

• Only Indian Nationals can apply
• You must be young and meritorious with a research interest in Radar technology

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 28 years as on 01 June 2026
• Age Relaxation: Available for SC, ST, and OBC candidates as per Government of India rules

Salary

• Fellowship Stipend: Rs. 37,000 per month (as per current Government norms)
• Plus admissible House Rent Allowance (HRA)
• Tenure: Initial 2 years, extendable up to a maximum of 4 years as per DRDO Research Fellow scheme

• No application fee. This is a walk-in interview with no fee charged.

Selection Process

The selection happens in the following stages on the same day:

1. Email Application & Screening: Send your willingness email by 30 May 2026. Incomplete applications will be rejected.
2. Document Verification: Starts at 0900 hrs at LRDE Main Gate on interview day. Bring originals plus self-attested copies.
3. Written Test (if necessary): Conducted on the same day after document verification.
4. Walk-in Interview: Conducted on 09 June 2026 at LRDE Bengaluru.

Important: Late arrivals (after 0930 hrs) will not be allowed. No electronic items inside the campus. No TA/DA will be paid.

3. The email subject line must read: "Application for the post of JRF-Subject" (mention CSE or EE).
4. Attend the walk-in interview on 09 June 2026 at LRDE Bengaluru.
5. Report at the LRDE Main Gate Reception between 0830 and 0930 hrs.
6. Carry the duly filled application form with a recent passport-size photo, original certificates, photo ID proof, and NOC (if currently employed in a Government/PSU job).
