Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited, a joint venture of the Government of India and the Government of NCT of Delhi, has released Advertisement No. DMRC/PERS/22/HR/2026 (225) dated 02 April 2026 for the recruitment of Director (Works). DMRC operates the Delhi Metro — one of the largest mass rapid transit systems in India — and is also involved in deposit and consultancy works in many cities across the country and abroad. This is a senior leadership role where you will report directly to the Managing Director.

Who Can Apply?

Qualification

• You need a Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from a recognised university or institution with a good academic record

Eligible Pay Scale (as on 01.04.2026)

• IDA Pay Scale: Public Sector Executives working in the pay scale of Rs. 1,20,000 – 2,80,000 (Revised), or Rs. 51,300 – 73,000 (Pre-revised IDA), or higher
• CDA Pay Scale: Officers working in Level 14 (Rs. 1,44,200 – 2,18,200) of the 7th CPC, or Senior Administrative Grade (SAG) with Grade Pay of Rs. 10,000 in Pay Band 4 of Rs. 37,400 – 67,000 (Pre-revised), or higher
• You must have at least 2 years of service in the eligible pay scale as on 01.04.2026

Experience (Essential)

• Minimum 5 years' experience handling multi-disciplinary engineering projects, preferably in urban situations, including land acquisition and rehabilitation of project-affected persons
• Extensive experience in preparing tender documents, selection of contractors, and project management of important engineering structures like bridges/tunnels
• Experience and knowledge of railway-related disciplines such as track laying, signalling, electrification, and rolling stock
• Experience in all phases of rail-based urban transportation projects on international bidding contract basis — planning, bid documents, bidding, execution, commissioning, and post-commissioning
• Experience with project requirements of international funding institutions

Experience (Desirable)

• Experience in underground / elevated construction of Metro projects
• Experience in handling Consultancy Works and Land Monetization

Other Requirements

• You must be a confirmed employee of your current organisation (not on probation)
• Internal candidates must have completed at least 2 years of continuous service in DMRC as on 01.04.2026

Age Limit

• Minimum age: 45 years (as on 01.04.2026)
• Maximum age: 62 years (age of superannuation for Director in DMRC)
• Internal candidates: Must have at least 2 years of residual service as on 01.04.2026 w.r.t. the date of superannuation
• External candidates: Must have at least 3 years of residual service as on 01.04.2026 w.r.t. the date of superannuation

Salary

• Pay Scale: Rs. 1,80,000 – 3,40,000 (IDA)
• Allowances: Other allowances, perks, and privileges as per DMRC norms (including Lease/HRA, Medical, Perks, EPF, Gratuity, Insurance)
• This is a Board-level position with compensation matching top PSU executive standards

Selection Process

• Serve as a member of the Board of Directors of DMRC and report to the Managing Director
• Handle overall planning of projects, including design and architecture, tendering, contracting, and project administration
• Manage supervision of construction and commissioning of metro rail projects
• Monitor project progress, quality assurance, and safety across all ongoing works
• Manage cost control, land acquisition, and rehabilitation of project-affected persons and businesses
• Handle utility and traffic diversions as required for metro construction projects
• Prepare and manage tender documents, selection of contractors, and project management of bridges, tunnels, and other engineering structures
• Assist with compliance of project-related requirements from international funding institutions
