The Office of the Collector, Diu is hiring 1 Disaster Project Officer under the Disaster Management Cell on a short-term contract basis. Diu Collector Disaster Project Officer Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The U.T. Administration of Dadra & Nagar Haveli and Daman & Diu, through the Office of the Collector, Diu, has released an advertisement (File No. COL/DIU/DISASTER/2026-27/460 dated 14 May 2026) for the post of Disaster Project Officer at the Disaster Management Cell, Collectorate, Diu. This is a short-term contract engagement and you can apply in person or by Speed Post/Courier. Indian citizens with the required qualification and experience are encouraged to apply.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

  • You must have a Master's Degree in Disaster Management, Social Work, Town Planning, Social Science or other relevant field from a recognised Board/University.
  • You must have at least 3 years of work experience in a related field.

Desirable Qualification

  • Preference will be given to candidates with higher qualifications in the same field.
  • Basic computer knowledge is desirable.

Other Conditions

  • Only Indian citizens can apply.
  • If you are already working with the Government or any other organisation, you must get a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from your current employer and attach it with the application.
  • Candidates previously terminated from any government organisation are not eligible.

Age Limit

  • Maximum age: 40 years
  • The age will be calculated as on the last date of receipt of application (29 May 2026).

Salary

  • You will get a monthly consolidated pay of Rs. 35,000.
  • The selected candidate will not have any right to claim regularisation against a regular/permanent post in the future and will not be given age relaxation for any future direct recruitment.

Selection Process

Selection will be done in the following stages:

  1. Screening of Applications: Applications will be screened based on educational qualification and work experience.
  2. Interview: Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview. The notice will be published on the official websites.
  3. Document Verification

No interview call letters will be sent by post. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate disaster management activities for the Diu district
  • Support the Disaster Management Cell of the Collectorate in daily operations
  • Prepare disaster preparedness plans, mock drills and response strategies
  • Coordinate with NDRF, SDRF, police, fire and medical teams during emergencies
  • Maintain records of resources, equipment and trained personnel for disaster response
  • Conduct awareness programmes for the public on disaster preparedness
  • Prepare reports, project proposals and presentations for senior officers
  • Assist in implementing State and Central disaster management schemes

Eligibility Criteria

Minimum Qualification

Master's Degree in Disaster Management, Social Work, Town Planning, Social Science or other relevant field from a recognised Board/University with 3 years of work experience in a related field.

Preferred Qualification

Higher qualification in the same field. Basic computer knowledge.
