DIAT Research Associate Recruitment 2026 - 1 Post

The Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT), Pune — a Deemed University under the Department of Defence Research & Development, Ministry of Defence — has announced recruitment for 1 Research Associate (RA) in the Department of Applied Physics. The post is under an institute-level research project titled "Lead-Free Halide Perovskite Thin-Film Memristors for Resistive Switching and Neuromorphic Device Applications". This is a temporary, project-based position with a tenure of up to 1 year or co-terminus with the project, whichever comes earlier. It does not offer permanent absorption into DIAT.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• Ph.D. in Applied Physics from a recognized university

Desirable Experience

• Proven experience in Perovskite materials synthesis
• Prior knowledge of resistive switching and sensor development

Other Conditions

• Qualifications and experience must be from recognized Universities/Institutions/Industries
• Meeting the minimum qualification does not guarantee a call for interview — the Screening Committee may shortlist based on higher qualifications and experience
• You must be ready to join immediately on receipt of the offer letter

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years as on 22 April 2026
• SC/ST, Women & PwD candidates: 5 years relaxation (up to 40 years)
• OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) / EBW candidates: 3 years relaxation (up to 38 years)

Salary and Benefits

• Monthly Stipend: Rs. 67,000/- (consolidated per month)
• Medical Facility: Limited to MI Room facilities at DIAT campus
• No DA, HRA, or other allowances beyond the consolidated stipend
• This position does not confer any right to permanent employment or absorption in DIAT

Selection Process

Shortlisted candidates will be called for an interview:

1. Screening: Applications are screened based on qualifications and experience over and above the minimum prescribed. Only suitable candidates will be called for interview.
2. Interview (In-person or Video Conference): Mode of interview will be intimated to shortlisted candidates via email. No TA/DA will be paid for attending the interview in any mode.
3. Document Verification: You must bring all original educational certificates, supporting documents, project reports, and publications at the time of the interview.

• Conduct experimental research on lead-free halide perovskite thin-film memristors
• Synthesize and characterize perovskite materials for resistive switching applications
• Work on neuromorphic device design and testing under the supervision of the Principal Investigator
• Prepare technical reports, research data records, and publish findings in scientific journals
• Handle laboratory instruments and maintain proper records of experiments and results
• Follow all safety protocols and standard operating procedures in the research lab
• Assist in writing project progress reports as required by the funding agency
