DIAT Senior Research Fellow Recruitment 2026: Overview

Defence Institute of Advanced Technology (DIAT) is recruiting a Senior Research Fellow (SRF) for its Department of Applied Chemistry, Energy and Environment at Girinagar, Pune. The fellowship supports a Defence Research and Development Organisation (DRDO) project on numerical analysis and film cooling in thrust-vectored nozzles. This is a project-linked research engagement, with Dr. Rahul Yadav as the Principal Investigator.

Service Conditions and Caveats

• Project tenure: The engagement lasts for 19 months or until the project ends, whichever comes first. Your appointment remains tied to the project.
• No permanent absorption: Accepting the fellowship does not give you a right to a permanent position at DIAT, Pune. The notice treats the research appointment separately from regular institute employment.
• PhD opportunity: DIAT encourages recruited fellows to register for a PhD through the proper institute channels. Registration follows DIAT rules, so the fellowship offer itself does not confirm PhD admission.
• Joining: If selected, you must join immediately after receiving the offer letter. Keep this condition in mind if you would need to leave another position before taking up the fellowship.
• Travel: DIAT will not pay travelling or daily allowances for attending the interview. This condition applies if you are called to attend in person.
