Dredging Corporation of India Limited (DCIL), a Miniratna PSU under the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, has released Advertisement No. 02/2026 for fleet personnel and trainee positions on contract basis. Walk-in interviews will be held on 23, 24, and 25 June 2026 at Dredge House, Visakhapatnam. Marine engineers, electrical engineers, and 10th pass candidates with GP rating can apply.

Who Can Apply?
For Trainee Marine Engineer (TME):
- Four-year degree in Marine Engineering from any IMU affiliated college/Institute approved by D.G. Shipping, or from Institutes recognised by any State or Central Government or AICTE
- OR Graduate Marine Engineering from a recognised university after completion of four-year Engineering Degree
For Trainee Electrical Officer (TELO):
- Four-year degree in Electrical Engineering / Electronics Engineering / Electrical & Electronics / Electronics & Telecommunication / Communication Engineering / Electronics & Instrumentation Engineering from a recognised university
- Should have completed four months Electro Technical Officer (ETO) course from a DG Shipping approved institute
For NCV (Trainee):
- Minimum SSC / 10th class pass from recognised education board
- Pre-sea GP rating course passed with Exit Examination approved by DG Shipping
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks
For Fleet Personnel (COC/COP/Experience):
- Dredge Master: Certificate of Competency/COS as Master(FG) / Dredge Master Gr-I / Master (NCV)
- Chief Officer: COC as 1st Mate(FG) / Dredge Master Gr-II / Mate(NCV)
- Chief Engineer Officer: MEO Class-I Certificate / Dredge Engineer Grade-I / MEO Class-II with 12 months experience / MEO Class-III (NCV-CEO) with OSV endorsement (6 months experience)
- Petty Officer (Dredging): Ex-Chief Petty Officer / Petty Officer / Leading Seaman from Indian Navy / NWKO(NCV) holders / Dredge Mate Grade II holders / GPR with minimum 2 years experience as tube operator on dredgers
- All candidates must possess valid Indian CDC, Passport, INDOS and basic STCW'2010 Certificates
Age Limit
- For NCV (Trainee): You should be below 25 years as on the date of joining on board
- For other Trainee posts and Fleet Personnel: No specific age limit mentioned — eligibility is based on qualification and certification

Salary
- Trainee Marine Engineer: Stipend of Rs. 25,000 per month plus victualing allowance of Rs. 600 per day
- Trainee Electrical Officer: Stipend of Rs. 25,000 per month plus victualing allowance of Rs. 600 per day
- NCV Trainee: Stipend of Rs. 10,000 per month plus victualing allowance of Rs. 405 per day
- Trainee SHM / Trainee ERR: Rs. 15,000 per month plus victualing allowance of Rs. 405 per day
- Trainee Cook: Rs. 10,000 per month plus victualing allowance of Rs. 405 per day
- Fleet Personnel salaries as per DCIL pay rules (figures not specified in this advertisement)
- Note: TME and TELO must execute a Bank Guarantee of Rs. 3 lakh (or deposit equivalent) to serve DCI for 5 years after training. Trainee SHM/ERR/Cook must execute a Bank Guarantee of Rs. 1 lakh for 2 years service bond.
Selection Process
Selection happens in different ways for different posts:
- For Fleet Personnel: Selection is based on performance in walk-in interview. Minimum qualifying score is 50 marks out of 100.
- For Trainee Marine Engineer and TELO: Selection is based on percentage of marks in prescribed qualification (80% weightage) plus interview performance (20% weightage). Total 100 marks. Minimum cut-off 50% each (40/80 in qualification and 10/20 in interview).
- For NCV Trainee: 50% weightage on SSC/10th Class marks and 50% on GPR Exit Examination marks.
- Document Verification: All candidates must produce original documents during interview, failing which they will not be allowed to appear.

Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain dredgers during marine and inland dredging operations
- Handle navigation, watch keeping, and safety procedures on board the vessel
- Maintain engine room equipment, electrical systems, and machinery as per assigned rank
- Follow Director General of Shipping (DG Shipping) regulations and STCW safety standards
- Assist senior officers in survey, recording, and tube operation during dredging work
- Maintain CDC, INDOS records and complete prescribed sea-time and training requirements
- Work in shifts including night watches as per vessel schedule
- Report mechanical issues, accidents, and unusual sea conditions to the master
