BSNL is hiring 100 Junior Telecom Officers (JTO-Telecom) through direct recruitment from the open market. If you have a B.E./B.Tech in Telecom, Electronics, Computer, Electrical, IT, or Instrumentation (or M.Sc. Electronics/Computer Science), you can apply online. Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL), a Government of India Enterprise under the Ministry of Communications, has released Advt. No. BSNLCO-11/12(11)/1/2026-RECTT-CO dated 26 May 2026 for direct recruitment of 100 Junior Telecom Officer (Telecom) posts. These vacancies are spread across 21 telecom circles with the bulk in Karnataka, Maharashtra, Kerala, and Madhya Pradesh. This is a full all-India competitive exam — selection is purely on merit through a Computer Based Test (CBT). Engineering freshers and experienced candidates with the right degree can apply.

Who Can Apply?
Educational Qualification
- You must have a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E./B.Tech) degree (or equivalent) from a Central/State Government recognised institution in any one of these disciplines: Telecommunications, Electronics, Radio, Computer, Electrical, Information Technology (IT), or Instrumentation.
- OR M.Sc. (Electronics) / M.Sc. (Computer Science) from a recognised university.
- Candidates with higher qualifications like M.Tech in the above disciplines are also eligible.
- The degree must be from a university incorporated by an Act of Parliament or declared a Deemed University under Section 3 of UGC Act, 1956. You must have completed the course on or before the closing date.
Other Requirements
- You must be an Indian National.
- You must be able to distinguish principal colours and have binocular vision.
- You should NOT have a spouse living if you have entered into a second marriage.
Age Limit
- Minimum age: 20 years
- Maximum age: 30 years (as on closing date of application, i.e. 3 July 2026)
- Age Relaxation:
- OBC (NCL): up to 33 years (+3)
- SC / ST: up to 35 years (+5)
- PwBD (UR/EWS/OBC CL): up to 40 years (+10)
- PwBD (OBC NCL): up to 43 years (+13)

Salary
- Selected JTOs will be placed in the IDA Pay Scale E-1: Rs. 16,400 to Rs. 40,500 (2nd PRC pay scale w.e.f. 01.01.2007).
- You will also get Dearness Allowance (DA), HRA, and other allowances as per BSNL rules.
- Estimated Cost to Company (CTC) with all allowances is around Rs. 70,000 to Rs. 80,000 per month in metro cities.
- You will need to sign a Bond of Rs. 6 lakh to serve BSNL for at least 5 years after appointment.
- Period of probation: 2 years.

Selection Process
Selection is through a single-stage Computer Based Test (CBT):
- Computer Based Test (CBT): 120 multiple choice questions for 480 marks in 3 hours. The test has three sections — Engineering Stream Section-I (50 questions, 200 marks), Engineering Stream Section-II (50 questions, 200 marks), and General Ability Test Section-III (20 questions, 80 marks). Negative marking of 1 mark per wrong answer (4 marks per correct answer).
- Document Verification: Selected candidates in the merit list will be called for document verification.
- Medical Examination: Final appointment is subject to passing BSNL's company medical examination.
Minimum qualifying marks: 40% per section and 50% overall for UR/OBC (CL). For SC/ST/OBC (NCL)/PwBD/EWS, the minimum is 35% per section and 45% overall.
Training after selection: JTO Phase-I (10 weeks) + Field Training (4 weeks) + JTO Phase-II (6 weeks specialisation).

- Register with your mobile number and email ID — you will get an OTP.
- Fill in the online application form with your personal, educational, and category details.
- Upload your photo (20-50 KB), signature (10-20 KB), Class 10 certificate, degree certificate, mark sheets, ID proof, caste/PwBD/EWS certificate (if applicable).
- Select your circle preferences — you can choose up to all 21 circles in order of preference (recommended for better chances).
- Pay the examination fee online.
- Submit the form and take a printout of the registration slip for your records.
- You can edit selected fields during the editing window from 4 to 11 July 2026.

Responsibilities
- Handle operation and maintenance of BSNL telecom infrastructure including switching, transmission, and access networks
- Manage installation, commissioning, and fault repair of telecom equipment in your assigned circle
- Monitor mobile network performance, fibre optic links, and broadband services
- Supervise technical staff and field teams to ensure smooth service delivery
- Coordinate with vendors and contractors for network upgrades and new technology rollouts
- Prepare technical reports, maintain network records, and submit periodic reviews
- Respond to customer service issues and ensure quality of service standards are met
- Follow BSNL safety guidelines and standard operating procedures during field work
