MRPL, a Schedule 'A' Miniratna Central Public Sector Enterprise and a subsidiary of ONGC, has released Advertisement No. MRPL/PFTE/2026/01 to engage 5 Fire Officers as Personnel on Fixed Term Employment (PFTE). MRPL originally set 16 July 2026 as the last date but has now extended it to 30 July 2026 through a corrigendum, which also pushed the age cut-off date to the same day. The role involves running the fire station at MRPL's 15 MMTPA refinery, so experienced fire safety professionals from the oil, gas, or petrochemical sector should apply.
Who Can Apply?
- Qualification: Bachelor's degree in Engineering in Fire / Fire and Safety with a minimum aggregate of 60% marks from a recognized Indian University, UGC-recognized Deemed University, AICTE-approved Autonomous Institution, or Board of Technical Education.
- Experience: You need at least 5 years of post-qualification work experience in Fire / Fire and Safety in the Oil and Gas, Petrochemicals, or Fertilizer industry.
- Vacancy Split: Of the 5 posts, 4 are Unreserved (UR) and 1 is reserved for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer).
- PwBD: This post is suitable for candidates with Hard of Hearing (HH), Autism Spectrum Disorder (Mild), or Specific Learning Disability, with a minimum 40% disability.
- Nationality: Only Indian Nationals can apply.
Age Limit
- You should be up to 50 years old (Unreserved) or up to 53 years old (OBC-NCL) as on 30 July 2026 (revised cut-off date).
- Age Relaxation: PwBD candidates with a minimum 40% disability get a 5-year relaxation. Ex-servicemen get relaxation as per Government of India rules.
Salary
- You will get a consolidated annual pay of Rs. 13 Lakh per annum if you have 5 to 6 years of relevant experience, or Rs. 14 Lakh per annum if you have more than 6 years of experience.
- You also get Provident Fund (PF), Gratuity (after 1 year of service), Medical Facility, Leave, and Telephone Usage Reimbursement as per MRPL's PFTE policy.
- MRPL pays an ex-gratia amount of Rs. 25 Lakh to the family in case of death (natural or accidental), with an additional Rs. 25 Lakh if the death happens due to an accident on MRPL premises.
- Note: This is a Fixed Term Employment (PFTE) contract for 3 years, extendable up to a maximum of 5 years.
Job Profile & Contract Terms
- As Fire Officer, you will manage the fire station and shift-related activities, maintain fire protection facilities, respond to emergencies, plan for emergency preparedness, and train employees on fire and safety practices.
- Your job location will be fixed by MRPL based on its requirements, and you will need to work in rotating shifts, including night shifts.
- As a PFTE, you will not have financial powers and will not handle procurement-related work.
- MRPL can end your contract early for unsatisfactory performance or misconduct, with 1 month's notice or 1 month's pay in lieu. You will also need to sign an Undertaking for Secrecy and cannot get an NOC for outside employment during your tenure.

Selection Process
MRPL will select candidates in the following stages:
- Application Screening: Your application will be screened for eligibility, and MRPL may hold a written screening test if the number of eligible candidates exceeds 10 times the number of posts. The qualifying marks for the screening test are 50%.
- Personal Interview (PI): Shortlisted candidates (in a 1:10 post-to-candidate ratio) are called for a Personal Interview. You need 50% qualifying marks in the PI, and the final merit list is based purely on your PI performance.
- Document Verification: Your original documents are checked at the time of the Personal Interview.
- Medical Examination: You must be medically fit as per MRPL's medical standards before you get the Offer of Engagement.
MRPL also verifies Character & Antecedents, Caste, and Pre-Employment experience for all selected candidates.
If you are called for the written screening test or Personal Interview, MRPL will reimburse your travelling expenses (3AC train fare or AC bus fare limited to 3AC train fare) from your correspondence address to the venue. PwBD candidates can also claim reimbursement for one attendant, as per government guidelines.

Responsibilities
- Manage the fire station and coordinate shift-wise fire safety operations
- Maintain and inspect fire protection equipment and firefighting facilities
