Central Warehousing Corporation (CWC), a Navratna Central Public Sector Undertaking under the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, has released Vacancy Notice No. CWC/I-Rectt/Deputation/2026/01 dated 24 March 2026. CWC is inviting applications from serving Indian Railways officers (Senior Section Engineer – Mechanical) for 1 post of Manager / Deputy Manager / Assistant Manager (General) on deputation basis. The pay ranges from Rs. 40,000 to Rs. 1,80,000 (IDA) depending on the grade offered, and the last date to apply is 22 April 2026.
CWC Manager Recruitment 2026 — Deputation from Indian Railways
Central Warehousing Corporation provides scientific storage facilities for agricultural inputs, produce and other notified commodities. It also runs logistics infrastructure like CFSs/ICDs, Land Custom Stations and Air Cargo Complexes for import-export cargo. This deputation drive is aimed at officers from Indian Railways who have strong hands-on expertise in wagon maintenance and freight operations. The same vacancy can be filled at any one of three grades (E-1, E-2 or E-3) depending on the experience level of the selected candidate.
Vacancy Breakdown
CWC has notified 01 single vacancy that can be filled at any of the three levels listed below based on the candidate's present grade and experience. Post Code must be clearly mentioned in the application.
- Post Code 01 — Manager (General): Pay Scale (IDA) Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000 (E-3)
- Post Code 02 — Deputy Manager (General): Pay Scale (IDA) Rs. 50,000 – 1,60,000 (E-2)
- Post Code 03 — Assistant Manager (General): Pay Scale (IDA) Rs. 40,000 – 1,40,000 (E-1)
Who Can Apply?
Only serving Officers from Indian Railways working as Senior Section Engineer (Mechanical) can apply. The eligibility criteria differ based on the post code you are applying for.
Post Code 01 — Manager (General)
- Working as SSE (Mechanical) in Level 10 (Rs. 56,100 – 1,77,500) of CDA pay scale, OR
- Working as SSE (Mechanical) with minimum 03 years of service in Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 – 1,51,100) or higher of CDA pay scale with relevant experience
Post Code 02 — Deputy Manager (General)
- Working as SSE (Mechanical) in Level 8 (Rs. 47,600 – 1,51,000) of CDA pay scale, OR
- Working as SSE (Mechanical) with minimum 03 years of service in Level 7 (Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400) or higher of CDA pay scale with relevant experience
Post Code 03 — Assistant Manager (General)
- Working as SSE (Mechanical) in Level 7 (Rs. 44,900 – 1,42,400) of CDA pay scale, OR
- Working as SSE (Mechanical) with minimum 05 years of service in Level 6 (Rs. 35,400 – 1,12,400) or higher of CDA pay scale with relevant experience
Required Experience (All Posts)
You must have substantial field experience in wagon maintenance and freight operations. Hands-on expertise in CC examinations, TXR activities and BPC issuance, along with a sound understanding of ROH/POH planning and execution, is essential.
Age Limit
- Maximum age: Not exceeding 56 years
- Age reference date: Closing date of receipt of application (22.04.2026)
- Cut-off for age and eligibility will be reckoned as on the closing date of the vacancy notice

- Manager (General) – E-3: Rs. 60,000 – 1,80,000 (IDA pay scale)

Selection Process
There is no written examination for this recruitment. You will be screened and selected as follows:
- Screening by Committee: A Screening Committee nominated by the Competent Authority will shortlist candidates based on the job requirement and eligibility.
- Personal Interaction (100 Marks): Selected candidates will be judged on a 100-point scale across five areas:
- Work Experience & Professional Knowledge — 30 marks
- Communication Skills — 20 marks
- Leadership Traits — 20 marks
- Temperament / Emotional Stability — 15 marks
- Zeal / Vigour for Success — 15 marks
- Document Verification: Certificates, NOC, Vigilance/D&AR clearance and ACRs for the past 05 years will be verified before appointment.

Responsibilities
- Handle wagon maintenance, CC examinations and TXR activities at CWC CFSs, ICDs and cargo complexes
- Manage day-to-day freight operations and coordinate with Indian Railways for rail-linked cargo movement
- Plan and execute ROH/POH schedules for rolling stock under CWC's logistics network
- Issue BPC (Brake Power Certificates) and ensure compliance with Railway operating standards
- Supervise loading, unloading and dispatch at container freight stations and land custom stations
- Maintain warehouse and logistics infrastructure across assigned regions
- Prepare operational reports and coordinate with regional offices for performance monitoring
- Follow CWC's operational guidelines, safety norms and Navratna CPSE standards
Eligibility Criteria
Minimum Qualification
Serving Officer from Indian Railways working as Senior Section Engineer (Mechanical) in Level 6 to Level 10 of CDA pay scale, with relevant experience as per post code applied.
Preferred Qualification
Substantial field experience in wagon maintenance and freight operations, with hands-on expertise in CC examinations, TXR activities, BPC issuance, and ROH/POH planning and execution.
