The Office of the District Judge, Cuttack has released an advertisement for 28 posts — Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist, Junior Typist and Salaried Amin — in the Judgeship of Cuttack, Odisha, under the Odisha District and Civil Courts' Judicial Staff Services Rules, 2008. Who Can Apply?

For Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and Junior Typist:

• You must be an Indian citizen.
• You need to have passed +3 (graduation) or an equivalent qualification from a recognized university.
• You must have a Diploma in Computer Application from a recognized institute.
• You must be able to speak, read and write Odia, and have passed a test in Odia equivalent to M.E. Standard.
• For the Junior Typist post, you need a minimum typing speed of 40 words per minute on a computer in English.
• You must be of good character, sound health and good physique, with no organic defects or bodily infirmity.
• You must not have more than one spouse living, if married.

For Salaried Amin:

• You need to have passed the matriculation examination or an equivalent from a recognized board.
• You must have passed the Revenue Inspector Training from a recognized institution.
• You must also meet the citizenship, Odia language, health and character requirements listed above.

Age Limit

• You should be between 18 and 42 years old as on the last date fixed for receipt of applications (7 August 2026).
• Age Relaxation: The upper age limit is relaxed for reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/Women/PwBD/Ex-Servicemen/Sports Persons) as per the relevant government rules.

Salary

• Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist and Junior Typist get Rs. 19,900 to Rs. 63,200 per month under Pay Level 4 of the pay matrix.
• Salaried Amin gets Rs. 21,700 to Rs. 69,100 per month under Pay Level 5 of the pay matrix.

Selection Process

For the Junior Clerk-cum-Copyist post, selection has 3 stages:

1. Part-I Written Test: Covers English (100 marks) and General Knowledge (100 marks).
2. Part-II Computer Science Practical Test: Lasts 1 hour. You need at least 50% marks to qualify, with a relaxed cut-off of 40% for SC/ST candidates.
3. Part-III Viva-Voce: Only candidates who clear the practical test are called for the final interview.

Junior Typist and Salaried Amin candidates go through a similar written and skill/practical test process for their respective posts. The exact exam date will be announced to shortlisted candidates in due time, and the District Judge's decision on the result will be final.
