Central Sanskrit University (CSU) is hiring 5 Guest Faculty on a contract basis at the Assistant Professor level. These positions are at the Centre of IKS-EDS, located at Deccan College Post-Graduate and Research Institute, Yerwada, Pune. You will get a consolidated salary of Rs. 50,000 per month. You need an M.A. in Sanskrit with at least 55% marks along with UGC NET/SET or Ph.D. to be eligible.

Central Sanskrit University, established by an Act of Parliament under the Ministry of Education, is a central university headquartered in New Delhi. The Centre of IKS-EDS (Indian Knowledge Systems — Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Sanskrit) at Deccan College, Pune needs 5 Guest Faculty members to develop IKS material, prepare the Encyclopaedic Dictionary of Sanskrit, and work on other academic projects for the academic session 2025-26.

Who Can Apply?

Essential Qualification

• M.A. in Sanskrit with a minimum of 55% marks
• UGC NET / SET or Ph.D.

Desirable Qualification

• Experience in research, preferably in the field of Lexicography
• Fluency in Sanskrit and English
• Knowledge of foreign languages such as German and French
• Specialization in any one of these fields: Veda, Vedanta, Shrautasutras, Sulbasutras, Epics, Puranas, Philosophy, Religion, Grammar, Ayurveda, Yoga, Arthashastra, Shilpashastra, Pashuvaidyak, Manuscriptology

Salary

• Rs. 50,000 per month (consolidated and all-inclusive)
• This is a fixed amount — no additional HRA or other allowances are provided

Selection Process

1. Walk-in Interview — You need to appear in person at the Centre of IKS-EDS, Deccan College PGRI, Yerwada, Pune 411006. The selection is based entirely on the interview. There is no written exam.
2. Document Verification — You must carry all original documents and supporting certificates at the time of the interview.
