CSIR-NAL Bengaluru is hiring 21 Project Staff across Project Assistant-I, Project Assistant-II, Project Associate-I (PAT-I) and Project Associate-II (PAT-II) posts. If you have an ITI / Diploma / B.Sc / B.E / B.Tech / Masters degree in the relevant subject, you can attend the Walk-in-Interview on 26 May 2026 and 29 May 2026. Age limit is up to 35 years. Salary ranges from Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 28,000 per month plus HRA.

CSIR-NAL Project Staff Recruitment 2026 - 21 Posts

CSIR-National Aerospace Laboratories (CSIR-NAL), Bengaluru is a unit under the Council of Scientific and Industrial Research (CSIR), an autonomous body under the Ministry of Science and Technology. CSIR-NAL has released Advt. No. 11/2026/PS for engagement of Project Staff on temporary and contract basis under CSIR / externally funded / other projects. There is no written exam — selection is purely through a walk-in interview at the CSIR-NAL campus in Bengaluru. Freshers and experienced candidates in engineering, science and ITI streams can apply.

• Project Associate-I (PAT-I): 4 posts — Mechanical / Aerospace / Aeronautical
• Project Associate-II (PAT-II): 3 posts — FE Analysis / NASTRAN / Aerospace / Mechanical
• Project Associate-II (NET/GATE): 1 post — FE Analysis / NASTRAN / Aerospace / Mechanical

Note: Positions may vary as per project requirements. A panel of waitlisted candidates will be valid for one year.

Who Can Apply?

For Project Assistant-I (Rs. 18,000 + HRA):

• SSC / 10th Class pass plus ITI in Fitter / Turner / Manufacturing trade

For Project Assistant-II (Rs. 20,000 + HRA):

• B.Sc or 3-year Diploma in Engineering / Technology in the relevant specialization (Electrical, ECE or Mechanical)

For Project Associate-I / PAT-I (Rs. 25,000 + HRA):

• Masters / Integrated Masters from a recognized University in the relevant subject, OR
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University, OR
• Any equivalent qualifications duly recognized by the concerned authority

For Project Associate-II / PAT-II (Rs. 28,000 + HRA):

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technology + 2 years experience in R&D in industrial / academic / S&T institutions, OR
• Masters / Integrated Masters in Engineering or Technology from a recognized University

Candidates appearing for the qualifying examination whose results are awaited are NOT eligible to attend the interview.

Age Limit

• Maximum age: 35 years (as on the date of walk-in-interview)
• Age Relaxation: SC / ST / PwBD / Women — 5 years; OBC — 3 years
• Candidates must attach documentary proof of category to avail age relaxation

Salary

• Project Assistant-I (PA-I): Rs. 18,000 per month + HRA
• Project Assistant-II (PA-II): Rs. 20,000 per month + HRA
• Project Associate-I (PAT-I): Rs. 25,000 per month + HRA
• Project Associate-II (PAT-II): Rs. 28,000 per month + HRA
• Engagement is co-terminus with the project and may be terminated with one month's notice from either side

Selection Process

Selection is through a walk-in interview only:

1. Registration and Document Verification: Report at the venue between 9:00 AM and 9:45 AM on the walk-in date. No registration after 9:45 AM.
2. Walk-in Interview: Selection is based on performance in the interview or any other criteria adopted by the selection committee.
3. Screening (if needed): If a large number of candidates appear, the committee may shortlist through a written exam or other criteria.

A waitlist panel will also be prepared, valid for one year.

• Work on assigned CSIR-NAL aerospace research and development projects in the specified specialization
• Operate scientific instruments and carry out EM material characterization and testing
• Carry out EM design, analysis and lightning protection scheme work
• Perform FE analysis, CAD modelling using Hypermesh, Nastran, Patran and CATIA
• Conduct structural analysis, bird and hail impact analysis, and qualification activities
• Handle fabrication activities, mould design and coupon-level fabrication tasks
• Synthesize coatings and perform related materials testing work
• Prepare project reports and contribute to ground and flight testing activities
