CSIR-IIIM Jammu is conducting a walk-in interview for 2 project-based posts: Project Associate-I and Senior Project Associate. If you have an M.Sc., M.Pharm, M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemistry or related chemical sciences, you can attend the interview. The walk-in interview is on 29 June 2026, and reporting is allowed only from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM. Salary ranges from Rs. 25,000 to Rs. 42,000 per month plus HRA, depending on the post and NET/GATE or equivalent qualification.

CSIR-IIIM Project Associate Recruitment 2026 - 2 Posts

CSIR-Indian Institute of Integrative Medicine (CSIR-IIIM), Jammu has issued Project Advertisement No. 11/2026 dated 19 June 2026. The posts are purely temporary and project-based under the CSIR-FIRST project titled Metal-Free Enantio- and Diastereoselective Conjugate Addition/Cyclization of p-Quinone Methides for Drug-Like Carbo- and Heterocycle Synthesis. The work is tenable at CSIR-IIIM, Canal Road, Jammu.

This notice is mainly useful for chemistry, pharmaceutical chemistry, pharmacognosy, natural products chemistry, and chemical sciences candidates who want research project experience in a CSIR laboratory. The engagement will initially be for 1 year or until the project period, whichever is earlier, and the current project duration is up to 31 March 2028. It can be extended or reduced based on project need, funds, and performance.

Who Can Apply?

Project Associate-I

• Qualification: You need M.Sc., M.Pharm, or M.S. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Chemistry, Pharmacognosy, Natural Products Chemistry, or an equivalent qualification from a recognised university.
• Preferred Experience: Research experience or knowledge of Organic Chemistry, Natural Product Synthesis, and Analytical Chemistry will help.
• Higher Stipend Condition: Rs. 31,000 + HRA applies if you have qualified CSIR-UGC, ICAR, ICMR NET including lectureship/assistant professorship, GATE, or equivalent national-level exams.

Senior Project Associate

• Route 1: M.Sc., M.Pharm, or M.S. in the listed chemistry fields plus 3 years of R&D experience in industrial, academic, science and technology organisations, or scientific services.
• Route 2: Doctoral degree in Chemistry or Chemical Science plus 2 years of R&D experience.
• Preferred Experience: Research experience in asymmetric synthesis, multi-step organic synthesis, and analytical chemistry is preferred.

Age Limit

• Project Associate-I: Upper age limit is 35 years.
• Senior Project Associate: Upper age limit is 40 years.
• Age Reference Date: Age will be counted as on the date of interview, 29 June 2026.
• Relaxation: Age relaxation will be given as per Government of India rules.

Salary

• Project Associate-I: Rs. 31,000 + HRA per month for NET/GATE/equivalent qualified candidates.
• Project Associate-I: Rs. 25,000 + HRA per month for candidates who do not fall under the higher stipend category.
• Senior Project Associate: Rs. 42,000 + HRA per month.
• HRA: House Rent Allowance is paid only if institutional accommodation is not availed or provided.

Selection Process (No Written Exam)

Selection will be done through a walk-in interview. The notification also says the screening committee may revisit screening criteria if many candidates report for the interview.

1. Walk-In Reporting: Reach CSIR-IIIM, Canal Road, Jammu between 9:00 AM and 10:00 AM on 29 June 2026.
2. Screening: If many candidates report, CSIR-IIIM may use screening criteria before interview.
3. Interview: You can interact with the selection committee in English or Hindi.
4. Document Verification: Original documents such as qualification, date of birth, caste, age relaxation, NET/GATE and experience proof will be checked.
